'Last December' came on the other day and it almost made me cry I know this song is evaluating a person's life in the end. But when these lyrics were sung, it made me think that in those last moments before death, when your life flashes before your eyes, he's asking how it actually feels at that last moment. And I thought of his last moment, what did he think and feel. (Did you ever find a reason why you had to die? Or did you just plan on leaving without wondering why?) Was it everything it seemed? Or did it feel like a dream? Did you feel redeemed?

I agree that it is a very beautiful, poignant song, that has seemingly been overlooked by many. Last December was also the title of an album planned to be released during year two of the NPGMC, but was abandoned. I've always wondered at its contents and if it was a deeper continuation of the song and its concepts.

Just a lovely, powerful song. It never gets skipped. I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore...

It was basically Last December with 77 silent tracks before the final "one " Repeated adlib. A very great experience and concept.

Oh my bad, I was all set to share that I’ve also teared up to this song. But I misread it. I thought this was talking about “The Same December.” . Now that song is an overlooked classic. Nothing against the one you mentioned though, we all have our preferences. PEACE I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

Would probably have this as the final track on a best of 21st century Prince. Here is an amazing cover of the song, played live by the one and only Santana, incredibly performed the day after Prince passed!! For me, this is the only ‘Prince tribute‘ worth a damn 😎😇. https://youtu.be/M7TlFgj9jZ8

Yeah the Santana version was a great tribute, more meaningful song selection than musicians breaking out the stock "Purple Rain" rendtion in April 2016. [Edited 11/23/20 18:41pm]
