No ifs, buts or maybes - putting this out on the deluxe was a [forced!] masterstroke!!

The movie we know & love is a classic BUT NYE...my God - has to be peak Prince - transitional phase into Lovesexy mode, better selection of tracks, Miles Davis!, looser / more fun Prince.

can't understand why some people were upset the movie wasn't in the box. like, you've seen that a hundred times and you can see it again whenever you want, don't you want something more interesting?

I like this NYE set (there is some cool guitar playing here) but I prefer the movie. You can see (well I can see) where the tour vs Paisley Park portions are in the movie (ICNTTPOYM best case in point) but it still holds up as a great piece.

The NYE set is very loose in many parts (which is cool) and the movie is tighter in performance. I won't compare the sound because it's from two different parts of the year and recorded at two different venues. Each to his own

I´m happy that the NYE show has been released now but I´m really looking forward to a real SOTT concert footage release, regardless of the quality or angles or whatever.

The SOTT movie is great but I already own two versions and I´m considering buying the latest version as well, so it´s a good thing it´s not part of the SDE but I think for many American fans it would´ve been nice to have.

I´m quite happy with this SDE release in general and I understand that the completists probably like the 7" radio edits but it feels a little bit incomplete without those other songs we all know or already have that were also part of that era.

But the album and 99% of the outtakes is ok to rehash
