Can anybody tell me if the new transfer of the Rave 2000 concert on DVD included in the recent box set is a better picture than the OG DVD of the past? My OG DVD has some artifacting and other digital noise, that could easily be fixed with today's soiftware. I'm not asking for HD, as I know it's still presented in 480 standard on the new Box Set, but that doesn't mean we can't have a better overall rendering and picture quality. Does it have new menus than the OG? If so, that a good sign that it may have been re-rendered.

I don't have it but I heard it's a straight re-release. Nothing new or changed.

What a shame. I was hoping they'd not use that compressed file from 20 years ago. If anyone else has compared let me know.

Yes, I did hear rhat the content was the same with nothing new added, but was hoping for a new transfer.

Ok, for those who care:

I purchased the new RAVE three disc set. I can confirm the DVD has the same menu. I compared it to my original DVD and can confirm that the new file is a wee bit better. No remastering or anything, but less artifacting and compression by a small margin, which is at least something. I never had the IN2/UN2 CD's, so I''m happy to have the set, which does have kickass artwork I'll add LOVE the packaging!

Is it worth the upgrade from a DVD perspective? Probablly not. Like I said, it's just a tad better, and maybe not everyone can see the difference. (I'm a film geek)
