Someone noticed 12. Hot Thing (Extended Remix) was missing the breath at the begning on Orginal!..I means I on Ultimate....thanks for the correction databank [Edited 9/24/20 6:01am] “You can’t do it by executive order, unless you’re a dictator,”

. Good point! . I haven't noticed any problem/glitch on any extended version / B-side on that disc. I've skipped the edits, though. . The sound is excellent (to my 42-year-old ears).

Of all of the cds in this set, this one is the one that I'm looking forward to the most. I've waited a LONG time for remastered mp3 formats for the Shockadelica, Housequake, and (most importantly) La La La 12"s.

Ultimate was such a cool cd to have if you didn't have any vinyl singles...
then PR, 1999 and SOTT deluxe told em "imma ruin this mans whole career"

"Housequake (7 MinutesMoQuake)" might be the funkiest shit Prince ever made...sweartogod

Sorry if I'm negative.. but I don't get the hype of "this version of the song is a little bit shorter" or "this one fades out instead", and I don't think those versions justify an LP in itself [Edited 9/25/20 14:32pm]

I think that it is just for continuity/completion purposes. The shorter versions either got official releases as B-sides, for radio play, or on compilations so they were included because they are technically apart of the official audio canon for Prince historically

. . But why release them now as something to listen to? I don't get it. [Edited 9/25/20 14:37pm]

So if people wanted to experience the songs as they might have first heard them on the radio, for nostailgic purposes

So, since they would not bother giving us a digital version of the Adore edit, is any good soul going to rip it from the single? A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...iscog/home

La La La, He He Heee (highly explosive) is EVERYTHING! Can't believe I'd never heard it before.

Hi, I'm the guy who pointed out "Hot thing (extended mix)" was missing the breath on the "Ultimate" release. I was extremely happy to hear it on this! I am still scratching my head why the edit of "Adore" isn't on here. Glad it was on the singles box. I like these compilations as I'm a completist! I actually listen to these discs too!

Skipped the pointless edits. The extenders are awesome although I'm still undecided about listening to three long versions of Hot Thing in a row. Great to have either way. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

This disc is slammin! The disc of singles edits, mixes, extended, and b-sides seemed pointless on 1999 (except for the B-sides). But for this set, many of these tracks are essential. The 7 minutes MoQuake is the probably best James Brown-style funk that Prince put out. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony"

Hate that they included those pointless Video Edits on the 1999 SDE and yet missed Delirious Mono, if we're trying to be complete. So which tracks are missing this time? The Adore edit and...?

I think it's a shame that they didn't include Sign O The Times (Full Length Version) as its own track with these discs. The version on the actual album segues straight into Play In The Sunshine. The version released on the original 12" single had a clean ending (otherwise exactly the same as the album version). [Edited 9/29/20 17:25pm]

Wait a sec, are you sure there is a difference between the ending of the album and 12'' version?? The album version's ending seems clean enough for me, not really seguing. How is the ending on the 12''? It's very possible there is a difference, for example there is a 12'' mix of 1999 that naturally doesn't fade into LRC, but Princevault doesn't acknowledge its existence and it wasn't on the SDE last year. The difference is very, very small - but I’m pretty sure if you edit the album version it would sound clipped, not clean. I’ll have to dig out my original 12” to verify for sure. I’ll use my good headphones. If I remember correctly, the 12” of 1999 was just a fade at the end. For completists it probably should’ve been included! But I didn’t notice because I’m a bit tired of 1999 to be honest. These things do matter to me because I like to create singles/best of compilations and it’s annoying not to have proper endings in the best quality. (I’ll bet somewhere in the vault there is a version of 1999 that ends differently instead of fading into the start of LRC...)

Please let me know s know what you find regarding SOTT, I'm quite intrigued now. And if there's an alt edit I need to add it to my website. Okay I don't have my SOTT original 12" here so I had to open my Record Store Day version which was sealed. I had to know! [Edited 9/30/20 13:33pm]

I bought the iTunes download of the Sign “O” The Times EP awhile back - it states it is from “2007 NPG Records under license to Warner Records Inc”. It has a 5:03 version of Sign and the 12” single version of La, la (i.e. the highly explosive version). The same EP currently on iTunes has timings of 5:02 and 10:52. I’ve just listened to my download a few times and a small snippet of the beginning of Play In The Sunshine is just audible at the end of Sign on it. Will be interested to hear if the 1987 12” record has it or not (unfortunately my version got lost in a house move).
