Legendary, Supposed Vault Tracks You Are DYING!!! To Hear...

I don't know...maybe based on a hunch or intrigue around the song title??

Here are mine:

The 1980 DIRTY MIND era tune "When The Shit Goes Down".

Evidently its a full band performance and is one of David Z's personal favorites???

The 1981 CONTROVERSY era tune "Fox Trap". A song inspired by one of Prince's favorite Minneanapolis haunts at the time seems intrigiuing.

The 1979 version of "Do Me, Baby". Yes, please!!! Easily a Top 10 Prince Tune Of All Time! To hear a proto-early version of it would be amazing. Even if the lead vocals are Andre!

The pre-"Let's Work" song "The Rock". A huge curiosity on this one!!!

What are yours???

The ukelele version was said to be so emotionally gripping and honest that Prince erased all but two cassette copies prior to starting the banjo version from scratch.

I’m almost certainly in the minority but I’m actually more interested in hearing vault stuff from the last 15-20 years of his career. Mainly because we don’t really have any idea what’s in there from those years. The Deluxe releases are amazing but they also confirm that we have a decent sense of what’s in the vault from those years.

(I appreciate the original poster was after stuff we know about but still!)

Didn't HM Buff say The Divine sounds like We March? That killed my enthusiasm for it!

I'd like to hear Ruthie Washington's Jet Blues, Strength, the electric version of Welcome 2 The Dawn, and Grace (the 2015 outtake).

We have call of the wild. It was mislabeled as 9-5 people due to what he says in the song. But when questlove played it, it was called call of the wild

I wish someone would verify this then. The song doesn't sound like it is from 1985 to me? It has effects that sound similar to Lovesexy.

What about these? They're on the ASCAP repertory. Are they real songs (other than Bela Lugosi which I know is)?

"If U show ur body, they call U obscene"

This line sounds like he's talking about the Lovesexy cover and the controversy around it. I don't think it's mislabeled either.

Agreed. We have 9-5 People. PrinceVault confirms it was reused in We Got The Power, so we know it's not Call of the Wild - https://princevault.com/i...9-5_People
