I do. The more his bandmembers talk, the more we learn. I find it very insiteful. Even when Susan Rogers retells stories she's told repeatedly, she often lets out further details. I'm glad these people are telling the story, because when all the people in Prince's life are gone, we are going to have documentaion of who he was.

But what he said is true,Bobby Z said it. anyway that is a part of the arrangement ,its not a composition.

I could be making this up but I think I remember hearing something about Prince called the guys from Journey to be sure he wasn't plagerizing the song Faithfully. I think its that part in particular that really sounds like it.

Dr. Fink is AWESOME!!!! I have shared the stage w/Him a few times b4 Prince's untimely passing and the reunion of The Revolution! And He was a JOY 2 work with!!! AND- Whatever He says SHOULD hold some weight, cause He was there from the very beginning!!!!

The interesting story I've heard that follows onto this: the first time Prince did the "woo woo" at the end of Purple Rain was at the 3 Aug 83 First Avenue benefit and it apparently surprised the rest of the band.

Are you sure about that? cause there is a rehearsal for the 3 aug 1983 First Avenue

gig and as far as i remember he sings the part.

That dont mean Matt is a co author.its just a part of the arrangement.but a very important part.

I am a musician. I know how this shit works. Nothing any of these band members says is far-fetched nor does any of it reek of struggling for relevance. If you think Prince was responsible for every idea and every sound on his "band" albums then you're stupid. If he didn't need them and their input he wouldn't have billed it as a band and the credits on those records wouldn't state that the songs were written and performed by Prince and the band. Let me guess, in your mind Prince was just being nice and letting them have some credit they didn't deserve. It's 2020 MF. Get yo shit together.

It'd have been reasonable if p knew the song, the chords at the beginning are very similar. Huey Lewis sued Ray Parker over Ghostbusters and got a (probably juicy) out of court settlement.
