Appreciation of Prince's lullaby-ish songs....

"Wednesday" is definetely one of them.... replace the sad lyrics with rainbows and sunshine and it sounds like something you'd sing to your kids before they sleep

"Everybody Want What They Don't Got"

I KNOW the portion of this melody is lifted from some lullaby.... just can't think of the name.... someone help me out lol

oh I JUST found out that the melody in "Everybody Want What They Don't Got" basically has the same melody as the lullaby "Hush Little Baby".... just creates something interesting and fresh with the part "if they got nothing or if they got a lot"

Stopthistrain is pretty lullabyish now that i think of it.. like a mix of rnb, reggae with a lullaby melody... maybe thats why most don't like it, it just feels so different with that sweet diabetes melody...

Obviously, but we're talking about the style and melody as well as the song itself. That lazy reggae feel is good for a lullaby type song. Same song, diff lyrics.
