Way Back Home-Appreciation Thread

I feel this song is so deep and really good that it deserves its own thread.Frok the very time I heard it when it was originally released in 2014 I fell in love with it.I know it is sad but it is still great.
I believe the song was originally recorded in 2010
Curious about all of your opinions.Good, fantastic song?
I think It stands out in Prince's catalog

Joshua Welton stated that the song was written to his track. Circa 2013/14.
It's a great song.

One of my favorite tracks of his last few years. There's a parallel universe where this song is Prince's last top 40 hit, like Bowie's Lazarus. It's released in March or April 2016 with a proper video and a promotion to play it at your favorite cafe. Then Prince passes away, and it moves up the charts with sadness and poignancy. Oh well, that'd didn't happen.
.
A more obtainable alternate reality is to rework the track order to be Way Back Home - Time - Affirmation III or simply Way Back Home - Affirmation III. Either way, make for a more enjoyable listen.

.
And the song itself, great music/production by Welton, it's one of my favorites from him. Prince's vocal delivery is warm, fragile, and emotive. Lyrics are mostly very interesting and enjoyable. I like it!

I think it was one of the most beautiful Prince tracks from the 2010s.

One of my all time favorite tracks. I just wish there was a version without the affirmation introduction. I've tried editting it out because that silliness just ruins a classic. I would also love Affirmation III without the affirmation.

As I ve said at the time, Way Back Home should have been the first single.
It could have some exposition on radio.
Instead of the terrible FunkNRoll, that hurts the hears of the casual listener.
WBH was a pleasure to the ears - even if plagiarized from Ryuchi Sakamoto.

It's fantastic but I have a hard time listening to it now. Reminds me of Prince's death and also my divorce. He died the day after my ex filed.
