The Drums on Everywhere There's often lots of talk about Prince's drummers. I don't know if it's been discussed here before, but the drums on Everywhere are ASTONISHING. they make me want to take up drumming every time I hear it. I don't know if this is just indicative of a supremely mixed song/album, but to my ears, no other song in his catalogue has drums that I hear so distinctly and profoundly thorughout. John Blackwell wins any "best drummer" talk for me on that one song.

John Blackwell had the misfortune of being Prince's drummer during an era that's very polarizing amongst the fan base. But he is absolutely one of, if not the, best drummers Prince ever had. He was phenomenal.

His best drummer is between John Blackwell (RIP) and Michael B. in my personal opinion Then ig Sheila E. Then Prince himself lol

God Is Everywhere The track is a piano-led ballad, with gospel-style vocals by

that's so interesting if JB was indeed testing out a new kit. I swear NO other song in P's catches and holds my ears like those drums!

Prince immediately stopped whatever was planned and started the basic tracks for "Everywhere" on the spot.
