Prince's interaction with his audience in shows I don't know if there is a discussion on this already, or just casual remarks. There's someone who said: "Prince hates his fans - and his fans love him for it!" So while Prince put on rocking jams, is it fair to say he interacted well with his audiences? I think the only time he was mean to an audience member was Kim K ("get off the stage!"). |

He loved his fans...based on my experiences.
-He interacted with the audience all the time. Bringing groups of them up on stage during extended jams. I saw him do that multiple times. I actually never cared for that because it took away focus on him and the band. A lot of bad dancing and their was always someone trying to dance with Prince. Although the last Baltimore show, he did an extended jam of The Dance electric with a packed stage and it was amazing.
-One night alone tour (Columbus, Oh) - He let club members come in and watch the soundcheck rehearsal. He also asked us if any musicians in the crowd and then had 4 random people come up. He walked them through When you were mine before sitting in the crowd with us and watched them perform. Then for about an hour he sat on the stage front floor while taking le to ask questions. |

I was never able to see him "live" but I've seen many of the concert videos.
His little stories, like at the 02 "I used to be like you, I could go to the store" -- which then segues into him having to buy his "mother's cigarettes and tampons" is funny and revealing. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. |

I saw Prince live around 20 times, both in large arena concerts, theatres and tiny aftershows and his interaction with the audience was greater than any other artist I've witnessed. In 2002, as just one example, NPGMC members were given unprecedented access. I was at all three of the London Apollo gigs, which included exclusive soundchecks and aftershows/parties. At the soundchecks, Prince was literally walking through the crowd chatting and had NPGMC members come up and sing with him and play instruments and make song requests. At one point at one of the main concerts, he even walked through the aisle singing and suddently sat on a ladies lap in the audience! In most concerts from 1998 onwards, Prince would routinely invite audience members on-stage to dance. His audience interaction and participation was always high and he always seemed to 'read' any audience well in terms of what to play and when. | |

I don't get how you're getting troll vibes off me when I'm not even thinking about trolling when I create discussions. I'm too polite to troll.
Anyway, now there is countless videos online of Prince interacting with his audience. What was underground and rare is now mainstream and obtainable. That's the beauty of the internet. |
