Prince's "inspiration" for Chelsea Rogers

... no I do not mean the model/actress/whoever she was.

What I mean is the musical inspiration for this song, which I recall was beatwise more or less a rather exact copy of an older disco-era song. I remember I was shocked when I heard them back-to-back - as Chelsea Rogers really sounds a rip-off.

I searched here again on the org, but I cannot find the post I read this in first - and neither on the wonderful Google search. Can someone be so kind and enlighten me about the original song?

Thanks

Sounds like Daft Punk's Around the World bass riff.

Edit - which is probably itself sampled from something else.

No, the original song had much more of a disco-/funk feel to it. But thanks anyway biggrin

The baseline is ripped from a disco song but the YouTube link doesn't work anymore. http://www.youtube.com/wa...SHQDNado7c

I'm trying to find what song it is.

It's a legendary (at least to me) Azoto song.
