Just watch housequake from the sign o the times movie or the first 4 songs from the nude tour and all that moonwalking bullshit looks elementary in comparison. He did primarily the same dance moves and performed the same set list from the victory tour in 84 til this is it. Zzzzzz

word...MJ's reputation as a dancer is/was wildly overrated.... so many other artists could outdance MJ during and after his prime, that it was comical to see certain people be so amazed by him as a dancer

Yeah who is that? you're a MJ hater so your opinion is one that is just silly.

you got me mixed up with someone else...i love Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Jermaine Jackson, Janet Jackson and Rashid Jackson....never been a MJ hater...i hate no Jacksons

Come on, both men were very talented, and Prince definitely topped Michael when it came to playing and making music, but I think Michael out danced Prince, and was a better dancer. Now, both men could sing very well, and I loved Prince's range, the way that he could sing both high and low, but to me, Michael's voice was much better as a child than an adult.

No, it will never end because 99.99% of the time it is an insecure Prince fan who starts the debate and/or negativity against MJ. I never see that type of crap in the MJ forums that I frequent. The MJ fans discuss Prince with respect, even if they are not a fan of him or his music. Not so with the majority of Prince fans, there are always some Prince fans who try to diminish or negate everything that Michael accomplished in his career. It’s immature and ignorant, IMO. I guess that’s the difference between MJ fans and Prince fans, We(MJ) fans are secure. We don’t have to tear down Prince or any other artist in order to lift up Michael or to believe that he is the Greatest Entertainer Ever! This shit has been going on for 30+ years. It’s time to give it a f@#$&*$ rest.

There is more than one way a person can be a genius musically, I see no reason to pit Prince's mind against MJ or anyone else. They are all great in different ways

I find it happens with both set of fans. Vice versa. Two totally different artists.

Why we compare MJ to Prince? Because the whole fucking world does it at this point. If you ever watched a reaction YouTube video on Prince by some newbie, they always end it by saying "Who do you think was the best, Michael Jackson or Prince". Always. Forever. And Ever.

Nobody cares about the argument "They were two different artists". Bacause they will always being labeled as rivals by this current generation. So get used to it. Both set of fans.

I know for me, any answer other than "they were two different artists" is just a bit silly to me and always will be. I dig both for different reasons and find the whole thing in 2020 a bit trite and not worth anything in the grand scheme of things.

P gave props to Micheal many times in the past. He had a lot of respect for him...There may have been a little competition back then, but I think the whole "rivalry/battle" thing was made up and hyped by the media.

P didn't really have competition in the 80s. MJ and Springsteen weren't prolific enough. Bowie and Rundgren though still good weren't putting out albums every year. Stevie and Dylan both had rum 80s. John Lennon was dead. Paul McCartney may as well've been dead. James Brown was AWOL on drugs while Lou Reed was depressed, probably. And to think the 80s may still have been the best decade in all music. biggrin

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

You're probably right. Doesn't mean he's a better dancer, he's just more popular.Thriller sold more copies than Purple Rain. Doesn't mean it's a better album.

I love MJ more than I want to and I am addicted to Prince. That being said, while MJ was stuck in his choreography, he's an infinitely better dancer. Prince killed the splits and did some cool moves every now and then but he's not the best dancer, clearly.

With that being said, MJ doesn't really compare to Prince. That's like comparing Kenny G to John Coltrane. Just stop that right now.

As for his genius, it's in the rest note between the downbeat and the cymbal crash in the chorus for Head. To understand why that is funky is what Miles was trying to figure out. Nuff said.

Prince would probably say if asked who was better MJ at dancing...Prince whole style was James Brown ripoff lets be real..where Michael was doing stuff like he was a Transformer on crack that was other worldly!
