Prince should have recorded If the Kid Can't Make You Come

This is a song that should have definitely come from the man himself. I understand that it fit the Morris persona perfect, but it also fit Prince perfectly.

I'd love to hear this come out of the vault. I pray that he recorded it at some point!

I'm surprised that although he sang songs like Cool and Jungle Love on occasion during large shows, that he didn't try to embrace this one as his own classic.

Imagine that! It would have been epic, and on par with legends like How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore and Do Me Baby.

PLEASE let this song get uncovered!!

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

I ADORE this song! However, only the BFTP 6.0 uncut version.

And WAS that Prince playing the bluesy guitar licks during this song? If he could play guitar like that, I'm officially knocked out.

"Morris who is a very, very gifted drummer went in sat down to play "Kid", but he kept speeding up Prince tried it, he kept speeding up too! So we got this brilliant idea, when looking back at it now it's funny the P and I thought this was a really good resolution. Morris out of the three of us was the only one that had a drink now and again, or let me put it clearer, Morris was the only one that knew how to drink. P & I were real amateurs, honestly ... Prince & I drank a glass of wine or my case a glass of WHINE! (ohh my head the room is spinning, I don't feel well, etc, etc) will I'm playing the DRUMS on "The Kid" and of course all guitars." - Jesse Johnson

^^THIS^^...I remember in an interview with Jessie (Guitar World), he said P was "blown away" that Jesse could do simple and clean "fingers on strings" guitar solos on songs like 'If The Kid"....Jessie's quote;"P said he could never do anything like that".

Is that where guitar players take like the pinky or several fingers and play with both hands up on the neck instead of one down around the guitar pickup using a pick???

I think Jesse meant that the guitar solos were recorded clean (like a jazz/blues player)...no effects, no gadgets, etc. Either into a clean amp or directly into the board.
