Looks like it was filmed with a potato.

The picture fills about 75% of the screen and is pixelated. A 10 year old mobile phone would have created a better image.

Not sure if the original DVD was this bad but I got a better quality version from some nefarious website years ago.

Can someone who already has this release please talk a little bit about the new artwork? As I already have all the individual cds plus the dvd I wonder if the new artwork alone is worth the price of admission.

Thanx!

I already had these but dopey me threw out all the jewel boxes and cases in a mad effort to save some space. The packaging here is pretty tame. The booklet is ok. I think it’s just a reprint of the ONA box set.

It’s way more compact as that long box was ridiculous.

I hear you. I played catch up in the 2010s--when you could find Prince stuff for cheap.

After enough listens I gotta say the live sets have too much jamming and not enough of the songs themselves and audience singing? Pointless. And the preachiness is annoying. It's still great but I'm stilling waiting for a truly great Prince live recording

love the content...the video sucks. I am still amazed he let an official release be so poor technically in video quality.

The live album is AWESOME! The ONA album, one of my favs.

that is pretty much how most people thought about this set when it was first released.

it is truly a miracle that he managed to make such a bland, weird release of it, given
that the tour was one of the most amazing eras in his whole career.

the aftershows were out of this world good, even by prince standards and a lot of the
soundchecks were super special and unique.

yet those live discs and that aftershow that were released do the actual experience
about 0,4% justice.

the nighttown, vega or bataclan aftershows are rediculously good. so i'm lucky we at
least have very good bootlegs of those smile

Yep. That's thing about Prince. He always needed an editor/quality control expert and should never have been a director. I don't know why WB agreed to let him direct UTCM and GB. Prince was obviously a creative genius but woeful at overseeing his art.

Paper packaging.

Was the audio 'remastered'?

Extended?

Enjoyable read! I agree with most of the observations, especially about the differences between TRC songs live vs. studio, and the magic of his aftershow music. If some think think this period represented the bottom of his career, it's a hell of a bottom.

Well on the one hand it's a good thing I have totally trashed my entire record/cassette/CD/digital music collection.

On the other hand it's a good thing I have totally trashed my entire record/cassette/CD/digital music collection.

Thank God for good old radio and television.

I know I can restore everything too.

That's something to look forward to.
Maybe even revitalize the entire industry.

I meant to say revitalize my own industry.

All I've got is time and materials.

Mine didn't arrive yet... although it is just a collector's item for me, I have "Rainbow Children", "One Nite Alone... live" and the dvd already, I do not have "One Nite Alone piano" in original cd but I did burn a copy from the internet a while ago so I am familiar with the songs. I can't say I like ONA piano but I adore the other 3 (or 4) discs, I must have played "Rainbow Children" and the DVD a gazillion times back in 2001 and 2002, a lot less the live album (because I only got it last year) but still it's a good project and I am excited to have everything in a new, better package.

So glad to finally have a legit copy of this, missed it the first time around. And trying to find a second hand copy was an astronomically rare and expensive. And to also finally have a copy of Piano and Voice is even more amazing! Big props from me.
We're here, might as well get into it.
