Adele inspired by Prince?

People would say I'm weird but Adele's albums "19" and "21" reminds me of Prince. For instance, the spiritual tone of Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" reminds of me of Prince's "Thunder". Also Adele's "My Same" reminds me of Prince's "Strollin'".

What do you think?

"Strollin" was a fairly generic pop jazz sound.

The Breakdown seems to me like Prince was trying to do a ‘Someone Like You’ vibe song.

Good call. Both songs and artist are beautiful.

Yeah pretty much. I don't hate Adele or anything but a song like Rolling In the Deep, definitely one of her better songs as far as I'm concerned, is a quite clearly a very conscious attempt to write a classic pop-soul song like a million others that were written before. It's a very well executed piece of music but like all her stuff it sounds very assembly line to me.

As an aside - I think 'rolling in the deep' borrows heavily from 'gimme shelter' by the rolling stones.

I never hear this mentioned but it sounds very apparent to my ears.
