since the tracks are sequenced in chronologic order of recording, it would have been
placed between tracks 1 and 2 on disc 1 of the outtakes.

given that it is located after "it's wonderful day" (jan 86) and just before "visions" (apr 86)
i'm now wondering myself.

because the sitar version is from the summer of 85, according to princevault and that
version was worked on october/november 86 to minimize W&L contributions and there
were also some sax overdubs that were later scrapped, says Princevault.

so the version included here, if the chronology is kept throughout all vault tracks on
this release sequence, is one that we don't know about?

This is key. As we learned from 1999 SDE (and songs like No Call U, Irresistible Bitch, Purple Music, etc), they are keen on releasing versions different from the leaked bootleg if one so exists.
