Homeboy's having a meltdown claiming to talk albums while he keeps pulling out the same 2 tracks of highlights.

I think I've learned for a lot of his fanbase the whole "positivity" "Sunday songs" etc. sentiment goes a looong way. [Edited 6/20/20 5:04am]

Prince's top 4 albums will always be PR Sign o the Times 1999 Dirty Mind These four albums are groundbreaking works creatively & musically. Fans on here will come up with awful albums that will never be on any best list. "Come", "Planet Earth", "3121"etc should never be mentioned next to those classic 4 albums. I don't get the distress caused by anyone's list. Many of us will disgree with any one else's particular list. That is the beauty of Prince. He released so many different types of albums that each have their own appeal or not. It would be pretty boring if everyone had the exact same list in the same order. I am all for debating the lists, but I actually feel rather pleased to read the love for some albums of Prince that aren't my favorite. Each of them deserves a following.

I'm happy they included Come (one of his best albums) and Emancipation (a personal favorite too).
In my humble opinion, Controversy is one of his most overrated albums, i like it, but i became a Prince fan 7 years ago, and listening to his 30+ studio albums after they were released for decades, i must admit Controversy can't compare to his releases back then (Dirty Mind, 1999, Prince) for me all of them are superior. Controversy has something in common with these but doesn't standout to me between his releases that decade.
Come is interesting, dark, different.
Emancipation is ambitious and all over the place so i kinda love it for that. You can notice he was trying to say 'HERE I AM'.
Parade deserves a better placement.
But at least this isn't another conventional list that every fan agrees.

I like his list. I don't agree with all his choices but I'm happy to see Come and Emancipation make the list.
This is how I feel on most days. 1.Purple Rain 2.1999 3.SOTT 4.LoveSexy 5.Dirty Mind 6.Parade 7.Emancipation 8.ATWIAD 9.Controversy 10.Grafitti Bridge 11.Come/Batman [Edited 6/20/20 15:14pm]

Rusty, calling pretty much any opinion that disagrees with your top 10 bad or laughing at any other opinion is getting a bit old. We all have different opinions of what we think is his best work, let's chillax a bit and have fun talks. All of us having different 10 top Prince albums is what makes discussion fun, it shouldn't be this way

I see where you both are coming from with your points. I'm just amazed the jump Prince took musically from 1980 to 82. He went from garage rock/new wave to his own sound of "1999",with in two years time. Now, that is a something else right thereπ BOB4theFUNK

Like I've said, art is subjective. But I gotta tell you, 1999 is in my Top 5, coming in at #4, whereas neither Planet Earth or HnR 1 would even crack my Top 15. The court of opinion is just that. But you should know that when you post an opinion, especially one that says HnR 1 is better than 1999, you have to live with how you look to others. Just sayin'...
