Guardian top 100 UK singles. No Prince?

https://www.theguardian.c...t-uk-no-1s

Didn't he have ONE number 1 spot in the UK? If he did, how the hell did they leave him out of this list?

The only Prince performed song to reach number 1 in the UK was The Most Beautiful Girl In The World.

It's an OK song, but probably wouldn't even make my list of top 100 Prince songs!
It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

Also, Sinead's version of Nothing Compares 2 U made number one in the UK (it is ranked 12 on The Guardian's list). So did Chaka's version of I Feel For You.

I do like it, but for me it lacks any of that Prince 'special sauce'.

It puts him in the same boat as Stevie Wonder and Iron Maiden when it comes to the UK charts - I. E. only ever having one UK number one single in their careers, which was far from their best work.

Chaka's I Feel For You should absolutely have been on that list but sure they didn't even include any Adam & the Ants so... yeah... it's not my list anyway!

A list where Carly Rae Jepson's 'Call Me Maybe' makes the top 20, but 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' can't crack the top 40.

The Guardian fishing for click bait because their readership is in the pan.

People have been predicting the imminent demise of the Guardian due to low readership any minute now as long as i've been aware of its existence.

Only #1 singles are included in the list, and he only had one (and not a great one) in the UK.

Now, in a Scottish list his only Scottish #1 (Purple Rain) would probably feature!

Isn't Scotland part of the UK?

Edit; It is! You compete under the UK flag in the Olympics.

Andy Murray won gold, not for Scotland, but for the UK at London 2012.

Sadly, for now, yes. However, we have our own charts (among many other things) - Purple Rain was #1 here in the aftermath of Prince's death. Would certainly make a better representation in a ranking of #1 singles than TMBGITW.

Yes, Scotland contributes towards "Team GB" for the Olympics, but we have our own representation in all sports (including Olympic sports, at different tournaments).
