It’s disturbing that you think the rest are true though. If the milk turns out to be sour, I aint the kinda pussy to drink it!

So, then...like The Browns???!!
In the UK aren't team eligible to be "bumped down" to lower-level leagues if they don't win enough?
Is Totenham now playing local public high school, or something???

I think that people just want a source to where said rumors started so we can gauge how legit the "supposedness" of the announcement is

What's ironic is that this is the super deluxe I'm most looking forward to, but as a kid I thought Sign O' the Times was laughingly horrible at first listen. And then by the 2nd, 3rd, etc. listen I realized I was sorely mistaken. "The password is what."

It took a while for me to realize that it was a masterpiece.

That about describes my experience, too. When a casual fan tells me, "I love Prince. Purple Rain is the best" I think oh you sweet summer child.

My best friend and I ran out and bought it the day it was released. We both literally laughed at how "awful" it was. Then we both later had the same epiphany around the same at just how awesome it actually was.

Some songs definitely took me a while to fully get into. "It" was the main one, I always skipped over it until one day I woke up with it in my head - from then on everytime I heard it I loved it and it became one of my favs

My favorite Prince song is Hot Thing and I still hear differnt sounds just about everytime I hear it. Just another reason why I'm excited to heara remastered version.

The last was their last major trophy and that was 30 years ago! Last time they won the league (only their second), West Side Story won the Oscar and the Beatles were still known as the Quarrymen. But to bring it somewhat back on topic, Prince was 2 years old! So yes, two league titles in a 137 year history doth a failure make! Wolfie as a Brighton fan I would take that. Back to the album, as my tastes matured, I heard more. I never used to hear that certain water guitar sound of his. Then once I heard it I realised its in nearly everything he did Starfish and coffee and U got the look I always liked..the others came later. Right now...actually right this minute I am listening to So Far So pleased...but on SOTT current fave is Adore.. And just recently heard old friends 4 sale original...oh my god its great...and how it fits with everything on there... Speak soon Paul

I was fifteen when SOTT came out, and loved it all except the ballads and IIWYG. Crazy, right? I thought Slow Love was nothing he hadn't already covered on Parade, Adore was overdone, and IIWYG was underdone. I soon came to my senses, however...
[EDIT: It's gonna be such a treat to hear the album the way it's supposed to sound again, after all these years. ] [Edited 6/16/20 16:19pm]

I was 18. And same here about the ballads and IIWYG (which is now one of my favorite songs of his). I had no appreciation for his slow ballads.

I was ten when it came out and it was the first Prince album that was MINE. Not my mom's, not my sister's ALL MINE! I started listening and never stopped. It became part of my being. Every sound, melody, lyric -- became seared into my brain. I can't wait for the Deluxe.

Don’t think I liked any music back then other than the odd song here and there. At that age, my only knowledge of Prince was the When Doves Cry video which was just out. I do remember reacting strongly to it. Normally, I wouldn’t even notice much so I guess despite my, at the time, uncomfortable way it made me feel, I guess the reaction alone is evidence of the Strength of the art! But let's ask the real questions: with that album cover, which colour are they going to replace with silver foil?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I think the box and CDs and DVD disks should be peach and black colored. I hope it's really coming out!
Come on, Prince Estate! Get this right!!! Give us at least 4 disks of unreleased music!
Oh, and...I knew this album was special when it came out. Ever since I became a fan, I knew that all the stuff this dude was doing was legendary. There's no one like him before or since!

- I HOPE NOT ! - It will possibly be the same artwork as intended (I do hope), but possibly with a huge (purple?) sticker all over it... something like that. - And i'm tired of the PURPLE VINYLS too ! There's a much bigger variety of 'purple colours' to pick from. Peach and Black vinyls ? nah... we'll see. - I very much like the idea they released with 'The RauinBow Children' vinyl; transparent vinyl with a coloured slipmat... smart move. Estate ?! -
