That's a really interesting idea - I couldn't work out what the 'Sh...' might refer to.

“The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker is an unreleased single planned for release in late 1987 as a single from Prince's ninth album Sign O' The Times, but the single release was abandoned. Nothing is known about the proposed tracklist, although the a-side is believed to have been the album version of The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker.
An extended version was also intended for the 12" release.”

I’ve got a hunch that given the other unreleased extended versions at the end of the vault section, that this may fill one of the missing “holes” at 74 or 75.
There may or may not be something coming!

It’s the track I’m most looking forward to, really hope it’s there. If it’s not, then everything that is included will have to be very special indeed to compensate!

Yeah that's an ultra rare early version of Twelve

Edit to explain my dumb joke... the song Twelve was sampled in "Glam Slam '91"

The only way the estate could clean up the catalogue would be to re-release offical album remasters (with relevant released 7"/12"/B-sides)

.

We should have had that 25 years ago (Remastered + Complete).
And then 20 years ago or there would need to be Expanded albums, for instance including a live album and some outtakes.
And then five or ten years later "Lost Albums" box sets with proposed album configurations that never were released.
And also "(Super) Deluxe" sets with a new remastering (because those original remasters from the 1990s sound too much of that time, e.g. too much treble etc., plus technology has improved) and lots of bonus tracks (relevant outtakes, previously unreleased alternate versions,...).
And then perhaps a "Bootleg" series where we'd get loose outtakes that wouldn't fit on any of those.
And an online archive of soundboard concert recordings with almost entire tours, released bit by bit over a long time (with the most exceptional recordings getting physical releases).

.

I need a tissue or whatever right now.

Various fluids need cleaning up.....

But here we must mention the market oversaturation fears, too.

That was the main reason for 1 album per year or less or average.

Prince mentioned a 20 minute version.
Last week a 14 minute semi-studio take (seems to be a rehearsal or soundcheck take with studio overdubs I was told) was shared with some traders. Maybe he was talking about that one.

Did the Estate release this info?
If not then it's still same rumor as last week.
We'll see eventually, would be cool to finally have the full Paisley Park show.
I would really want the second Rotterdam SOTT show just to compare the differences and overdubs with the SOTT movie.

Too bad about the DVD. I was hoping for an actual gig in Europe, as there's practically zero footage from the tour in circulation. The movie is something else, nice as it is, but staged and lip-synched. I'm very curious for the real deal. Let's just now hope they have located and included the full lenght New Years' Eve Paisley Park gig, not just the second half. That would be a massive let down, video-wise.

That article seems to be heavily implying that Wally will be on the set:

Google -translated quote:

While wondering if this version x
x - x x x x x x x x x x x of " x x x x x "will have the same emotional charge as that described by x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

My guess is the missing words are "re-recorded", "Wally" and "Susan Rogers".

We need to be careful. The author admits that the guess work for the live show stems from fan speculation and he fails to realise that the same set list at Utrect 20th was used in Paris show on the 15th and Utrect show on the 22nd.

The wording for the DVD seems vague too. It doesn't suggest its nailed on, but it might be lost in translation.

I had the pleasure of once hearing the opening of the second Rotterdam show in soundboard and realised the version of Sign O The Times in the movie was from this show but ofcourse instead of him shouting 'Uptown' he shouted 'Holland'.
Great version, but I'll check PV for more info thanks!
