Exactly didn’t they report that lust U always and extraloveable Were on the 1999 deluxe set. Or was it that something would be on there with extremely explicit lyrics - I can’t recall. As soon as we get the official presser all this speculation can be put to bed

In fairness to The Violet Reality, they never claimed in certainty that ‘Extraloveable’ and ‘Lust U Always’ were on 1999 Super Deluxe. The information they were given was that the set contained two songs with “sexually daring” lyrics. They then speculated from said info that ‘Extraloveable’ and ‘Lust U Always’ were the songs that were illuded to. In a follow up video Casey revealed that ‘Extraloveable’ and ‘Lust U Always’ were originally intended for the set and both master tapes had been digitised for the project. That coupled with the fact that Michael Howe said in an interview that he wished they could have been included for completist sake seems to back up Casey’s claims. I’m guessing Michael genuinely did want to include those songs, but higher ups / financial speculators intervened.

Credit where it’s due. TVR did actually go out to the states and spoke to a bunch of people for intel, which is more than what I do sat here reading about this stuff online.

Having said that, they do seem to be out of the loop along with the rest of us this time around. That may change, but right now it seems they know about as much as we do. TVR didn’t get an advanced copy of the Legacy releases this time around. Maybe the estate are changing tactic when it comes to using social media personalities to boost their products. Either that or there wasn’t time to send out advanced copies due to Covid? Who knows.

There's a early config of Parade circulating with All My Dreams closing the album.

1. Wendy's Parade
2. New Position
3. I Wonder U
4. Under The Cherry Moon
5. Others Here With Us
6. Life Can Be So Nice
7. Sometimes It Snows In April
8. Old Friends 4 Sale
9. All My Dreams

It's also on two configurations of Dream Factory, an album strongly tied to SOTT, so why shouldn't it be included on this release?

I have "known" you for about 25 years and I could always count on you for two things: you info was good and you were rude.

Well, as of late, the former is slipping. Granted, I should have said "Parade session track". But still it was recorded during the Parade sessions: and it is notable for a fun fact... "All My Dreams" the song that he was or had been working on when he was asked for a song and he came up with "Kiss."

So what if Prince moved it to a different project? How many songs that came out with other albums were on the 1999 deluxe?

It was considered and sequenced on a configuration pf Parade... It was recorded in the middle of the Parade Sessions. It is a "Revolution" song. It fits better on Parade. And My Point was as there are several other classic Parade Session tracks NOT LISTED...meaning a Parade SD is likely in the works.

yep it was recorded in the middle of the Parade Sessions: and as I poined out during its recording he was asked for another song... which was "Kiss." (and this was a few days after "sometimes it snows in April"

It wouldve been cool to have the great "Old friends 4 sale"
on this album. Also " all my dreams" & "other's here with us".
But i guess didn't fit the theme of the movie.
I see your point though there is no "Kiss", ANOTHERLOVERHOLENYOHEAD",
& "Girls & "Boys which are all good songs.

I do agree that it fits better on Parade, and wouldn't mind it also appearing on a deluxe set of that album as well. But if Prince thought it was worthy of inclusion on his final configuration of Dream Factory, and they're including other songs from that album's sessions, then there's no reason why it shouldn't be on SOTT Deluxe. A little bit of track double-dipping won't hurt anyone.

I am fine if it is on this set, and I see the conection and distinction... I am just looking forward to a Parade set... but there is a ton of stuff from then...

My guess is it was done for urgency's sake.

Obviously it could've been on either set and it sticks out here due to it being recorded in April 1985 which is well outside of the actual sessions that produced Dream Factory/Camille/CB/SOTT.

The rumors were they were working on both Parade and Sign... maybe they did so as to make sure to have enough material for both? So maybe they are planing ahead?

And YES I see why "All My Dreams" is on this set...of the songs I know (most but no all) listed... "All My Dreams" is one of the best! *One of my favorites: it will be a little sad when it comes out...

But either way... no matter what.... I will buy 2 of them! (I got 1 1999 and i regret not having a back up)

I wish!

Then again, I also feel the inclusion of this song (along quite a few other tracks metioned here) jeopardize a potential Parade SDE. In my honest opinion the feel and the vibe of the song fits much better next to Parade.

there's plenty of good stuff left for the parade SD as it is. but who knows, there might be
a slightly different version of All My Dreams that can still be included on a Parade SD. but
as is, these are all possible contenders for a Parade SD:

Wendy's Parade
Others Here With Us
Old Friends 4 Sale
Come Elektra Tuesday
Heaven
Neon Telephone
Splash (although already released on npgmc so perhaps not?)
Empty Room
Go
Eternity
My Baby Knows
Call of The Wild
Damn

Evolsidog
God Is Everywhere
Palomino Pleasure Ride
Polka Dot Tiger
She Pony
Tibet
Stella & Charles
(U Got The) Good Drawes

alternate versions of the songs with or without Clare Fischer orchestra tracks, and a lot of
the Flesh stuff, i guess. so pretty much enough stuff to fill 2 discs of outtakes, easily.

smile

This. There's nothing stopping the estate from including both. If I had my choice though, well, it depends on the quality of the unheard material. Stuff like "Velvet Kitty Cat", or "Colleen", or the multiple rockabilly songs on 1999 Deluxe was cool to hear once, but not interesting enough to have any replay value for me personally. I'd rather take a song I know to be great than a mediocre track that's included just for the sake of including unheard material, but that is just me. If there's an unheard masterpiece on par with his released material, then sign me up.

We've known for a long time why SOTT SDE is coming now vs Parade SDE (which is next). No song inclusions here will stop that train.

I thought the same.
But I think there's still a lot of material that could be used for a Parade SDE like The Flesh.
Enough alternate takes of tracks and most interesting maybe is the rumor that Prince worked further on the Parade songs after the album released because to him they weren't finished and Parade had a rushed release.

That is why they should include everything they can.
