If "In a large room with no light" is really high-quality, I'm going to piss myself with excitement.

Good to see Train, Cosmic Day, Walkin in Glory, and Rebirth!

Curious about the ending of The Ball.

Curious why ICNTTPOYM '79 is here. It breaks from the precedent set by 1999 SDE's inclusion of Can't Stop etc unless WB just wanted first crack at the GB demos since they wouldn't when the contract runs out? Just a theory as I know their ownership of unreleased material is questioned. That would also lend credence to this inclusion.

"Crystal Ball 7" mix?" seriously? whats the point?

I would love to hear a pop single edit of this very un-single type track. sometomes he made additional instrumentation/SFX touches on those 7" mixes.

i remember that i had a shorter version of Crystal Ball on "the crown jewels III" (iirc).

it was mistitled as "expert lover" and was only a portion of the original track. i can't
remember if that was simply a fanmade/bootlegger edit of the full track or perhaps
we've had this 7" version since 1992? who knows. it's intersting anyway.

Instant pre-order, no question about it!

This is "the" Prince set of Prince sets, the vault tracks included are amazing and extensive in amount and ultimately there is so much to be stoked about! This is it

I remember a track named Expert Lover as well, but assumed it was confusion over Crystal Ball/The Ball.

maybe it means there are no plans to SD thoes albums?

I am glad there is only one Parade session on this set...,meaning that a Parade SE is possible. (and "All My Dreams" was on "Dream Factory" it is okay here too--in fact seems to be just about the best song of the vault tracks)

Yeah the bootlegers got many song titles wrong:

"Expert Lover" (and "Expot Lover") is "Crystal Ball" and the what they called "Crystal Ball" is "The Ball"

I guess GB doesn't have much of an allure but an SDE of the self titled is a must!! I could see them both having uncertain futures though and WB really wants as many fingers in the pie as they can get no doubt.

eye am excited .. eye wonder if they have any stand alone complete albums planned .. such as the 2 revolution albums ... one being roadhouse garden which could be kept separate if they redo the prdeluxe set ... i always saw the box of chocolates tape as some sort of intended album ... perhaps they will show up on parade deluxe ... are the crystal ball songs forever associated with the poom poom era? that would be sad but i guess that is why i make mix tapes .. they are doing a great job of giving us uncirculating stuff

i remember that, yes but the "expert lover" (or Crystal Ball) track was an obvious edit and
only clocked in at something like 3 or 4 minutes. at least that's how i remember it.

so that might have been this 7" edit, was what i was thinking. although, it seemed much
more like something the bootleggers simply cut up to give us a bit but not everything.

It all just still seems a bit wishy washy to me.

Wasn't the extended version of "The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker" supposedly over 7 minutes according to "Tangerine17"?

The guy working on the 'Ultimate' compolation in 2005-6?

Anyone else remember that?

if the remaster of the album and it's bsides is truly great, then that alone will be worth $ 150,-

it's so amazing that we will finally get this in great soundquality PLUS all these extra tracks,
which have also been mastered properly.

Disappointed there’s no extended Ballad of Dorothy when there’s apparently room for multiple versions of some songs, but overall looks good. It’s a must-have, anyway.

She must be unclear about something regarding her contract with Prince in 1986. Perhaps she should consult that before implying anything.

Considering that there's no mark down, it's really possible that the MSRP is $150 and the price will drop before launch.

I still preordered but that was some sticker shock when I first saw it. Every time they release a new Super Deluxe the price creeps higher and it's always right outside what I'm willing to pay for what they're offering. lol

Still there's alot of great material on this set and it seems like Warner & the Estate have finally found their groove. Congrats to them!

do any of the people in the know have any idea if "when the dawn of the morning comes"
is an instrumental or a track with vocals?

i know there was a supposed 'leak' of the track a while ago but that was not the track at
all but instead a mazarati b-side or something, irrc.

so i'm still very curious about this one. i don't know why but i've always imagined it to be
somewhere similar in sound/feel to "the grand progression", but more schmaltzy, a bit of
a cross between grand progression and grafitti bridge perhaps biggrin

woo. excited!

I'm not in the know, but I heard somewhere years ago that it's an instrumental. shrug I'm hoping it's moody and dramatic, like "God." drool
