Not that I’ll be streaming it on Netflix as I already have a digital copy but definitely for those who have not seen it. My sister-in-law (who is around my age and grew up in the 80s) only saw it for the first time when I showed it to her over the holidays and she enjoys Prince’s music. Casual Prince fans know the song Purple Rain but never actually saw the movie.

I have seen Purple Rain enough to last a lifetime! I don't need Netflix at all where Purple Rain is concerned.

Nice! Anything that gets Prince's music out to a wider audience is cool with me. Even if people have to sit through a cheesy movie to hear it lol

It will expose a whole knew generation to Prince who haven’t yet seen it. To us old music heads that seems unbelievable but not everyone has seen it. Being commercial free and uncensored makes it all the better.

What an event. I have both Netflix and two blu ray editions, so what's the point?

This is great as non-fans might come across it for the first time. So, yay!

It shouldn't be exciting for fans though. We should all already own a copy or six.

lol
I still have the original VHS from the 80s.
I had the remaster VHS from the the late 90s, gave it away when I got the original Full-Screen DVD, gave that away when I got the 20th Ann. DVD, which I still have.
I also have the first BD release and the triple feature BD that also includes UTCM & GB.

So, I still have 4 out of 6 copies that I've owned.... I'm good. lol

I blind-bought this once without ever seeing it before and that was once too much honestly.

What's the over/under on the oncoming onslaught of post-#MeToo articles decrying the Morris and Jerome "put the woman in the trash can" scene?

Considering the movie came out 36 years ago, anybody writing articles or complaining about that scene should be ignored.

AND, that person should avoid all entertainment made pre-2016. They obviously can't handle it.

I aatched it with my daughter. She had me cracking up about Apples being so emotional after one day of meeting a guy. Ok yeah it was a bit melodramatic but hey.

Wouldn't you think some bean counter at WB or Sony would figure re-releasing the movie WITH deleted scenes (like Francis Ford did with The Godfather to make a 6 hr movie) could be a big cash grab????

Though melodramatic and dated couldn't it be IMAXed and 3D'd with the extra footage? That would be worth going to the movies!!!

Am I getting these kind of looks???

Style is the second cousin to class
