Gold Experience Super Deluxe ideas? Disc 1: The Album by an so-called "Artist", Remastered. Unlike the released version, some tracking errors are corrected (eg. the 319 segue now plays at the start of 319 rather than the end of the precedeing NPG Opreator segue) Disc 2: Remixes 1. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Single Edit) - 4:02 2. Beautiful (B-Side Edit) - 3:57 3. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Video Version, with an NPG Opreator segue at start and a synth explosion noise after the song fully fades out) - 4:55 4. Beautiful - 5:55 5. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Staxowax) - 5:15 6. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Mustang Mix) - 6:18 7. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Flutestramental) - 3:35 8. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Sexy Staxaphone And Guitar) - 3:54 9. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Mustang Instrumental) - 3:19 10. I Hate You/Eye Hate U (Single Edit) - 4:26 11. Eye Hate U (Album Version w/o NPG Operator at start and full guitar outro) - 6:00 12. Eye Hate U (Extended Remix) - 6:18 13. Eye Hate U (Quiet Night Remix by Eric Leeds) - 3:48 14. Gold (Edit w/o Guitar Solo) - 4:43 15. Gold (Video Version) - 5:45 16. Rock And Roll Is Alive (And It Lives In Minepollis) (B-Side) - 4:34 Disc 3: Rarities 1. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (Original Version) (U all know this one, right?) - 4:36 2. Days Of Wild (Gold Experience Version) - 3:44 3. Acknowledge Me (Full-Length Version) - 6:16 4. Ripopgodazippa - 4:37 5. Pussy Control (Club Mix/"Record Scratch" Intro) - 6:03 6. Pussy Control (House Mix) - 5:40 7. The Funky Design - 3:46 8. Mad - 5:31 9. Gold (stripped down mix without Ricky Peterson's additional production) - 6:40 (only heard at Prince's nightclubs on TV screens, avaibile on "10,000 Wallpaper") 10. Hide The Bone - 5:03 11. Chaos And Disorder (1994 version, no backing vocals) - 4:12 12. Right The Wrong (1994 version) - 4:40 13. Gold (Without NPG Opreator) - 7:35 (On "The Gold Album", this was preceded by an excerpt of "I'd Like To Buy The World A Coke", possibly restored here to a 7:50 length)
Disc 4: Unreleased tracks This would include Listen 2 The Rhythm, Strength, Angie, The Jam, Shy (drum machine version), We March (Funky Design version piror to musical changes) and all TGE songs not released through any source. And 2 discs (CD and DVD) of two different Ultimate Live Experience shows.

Hmmm the Come/TGE eras would be tough to revisit since there are so many different mixes both released and unreleased along with different configurations of these albums... so much to the point that they even overlap!!! Personally, I would like to see a release of the scrapped 1993/1994 extended album The Dawn which included songs that would eventually end up in Come, TGE, Chaos and Disorder and some even in Old Friends 4 Sale(?). This along with separate disks including all the various mixes and unreleased songs that didn’t make the cut in either The Dawn or Come/TGE would be a good way to approach this particular era in my opinion. Sounds like this would be a 10 disk box set titled The Dawn! Lol

The 10,000 wallpaper alone would be nice. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It's a bootleg by Free Boot Generation from 2012 of a VHS tape played at Prince's nightclubs promoting his 10,000 Wallpaper business venue. Go find it yourself

They can't even release the standard edition since 25 years, even on streaming. Why would they be a super deluxe edition?

It will be interesting to see how the estate and all handle things like this, meaning the later works. It's pretty safe to say that they are so far at least sticking to the very early stuff for their remastering and bonus etc...Though there was the RAVE issue nothing was really done to that it was just all packaged in one set, all that stuff had technically been released. The big question will they even do albums like this, or will they mainly focus on say, Sign of The Times, Parade, maybe even Dirty Mind and Controversy and then possible Diamonds and Pearls since it was a huge record for him. Though Gold Experience was a gold record that era with things like COME and Chaos is going to be really tricky and who knows if they will attempt to do anything or just reissue these things on cd and vinyl with new packaging. I'll probably be very old or dead by the time they even get round to or bother with a Gold Experience Super Deluxe (or are even able to, given how long the TMBGITW legal issue has been rumbling along), and I'm only 33. I'd buy multiple copies of the vinyl if they did though, lol.

My personal favorite "Prince" album!
I would like to see it issued the way he originally wanted it & was happy with it but warners help it back e.g.
Exactly as released but including "Day's of Wild" Studio Version and the "Welcome to the wild experience intro"
With the orginal concept packagin with the mettalic gold foil cover as seen on letterman & the sunday show!
Obviously I would like to hear all the unreleased tracks from that era too (Strawberries, The Jam etc) either on a second disc or as part of a Unreleased tracks set like crystal ball II
And leave the Super Deluxe's to the real big sellers Parade, Sign o' The Times & Diamonds & Pearls [Edited 1/30/20 6:23am] he might have better luck if he was drummin with his Dick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't want to be the one in charge of handling 'Come' or 'The Gold Experience' Super Deluxe. I know the concept of a Super Deluxe album is to be as thorough as possible, but this era contained too many remixes, works in progress and cross pollination with each other (and don't forget 'NPG Exodus' which also at one point included versions of Acknowledge Me, Mad & Funky Design). Even is the legal issues around 'Beautiful' do get resolved this is still going to be a minefield.

The super deluxe treatment should be applied only for significant albums. Gold was not a commercial success (it wasn't even released in France lol) and was not well received by the critics. . And since it was out of print for 25 years (and counting) this album is completely forgotten. . I really don't think there would be deluxe editions after maybe Lovesexy. Maybe, maybe WB won't sit on Batman when they Will own only soundtracks. . Even D&P which was a commercial success at the time, sells only a few hundred copies a year. Rnb/hip hop of the 90's are outdated now. . It is so badly received by the critics and is still bashed by the fans today, that it s clearly not an album that could receive a super deluxe treatment. .

OMFG! The possibilties would be endless! I will be more than likely dead and buried before this would ever come out, but when it does... "light it up and take a hit" for me!

I was frustrated for a while by the lack of an affordable vinyl of any form for TGE, as I missed the boat in terms of being able to get one of the '95 pressings for less than, say, £100, which is probably the most I'd be able to or accept paying.
So I'm now downgrading my hopes/expectations to being excited for *any* future stuff that comes out from the mid-'90s (straight reissues, vault stuff, whatever). Getting just 'whatever' feels like a bonus eventually, lol. Crystal Ball as a Legacy reissue this year would be cool.

The album that was bashed by fans was/issue D&P. Learn how to read. Gold is not bashed. I just said it was merely ignored, by the critics, and by the audience, since it s no in stores anymore for more than two decades. On some countries it wasn't even released.

The likes of The 1001 albums you have to listen before you die, the Rolling Stones 500 best albums, even not on a best 90's album lists. . This is not SOTT, 1999 not even Dirty Mind which are on every list. . The feud between Prince and WB, the bad timing of release (1 year and a half after the hit TMBGITW), the lack of Availability might have played a role in that ignorance by the critics, for sure. . But I saw no rehabilitation of the album ( unlike, say, Parade).

Come and The Gold Experience would be two of the albums I'd be most excited to see released in deluxe editions. So many configuations, alternate versions, remixes and quality material from this period. A premium package designed predominantly for hardcore fans would be good for me.

Second the Come/Gold Experience package. This era needs more love from the public for sure and i think an outtakes and earlier versions set would serve it well more than any straight forward reissue could. It's possibly a bit too shiny in its finished state for many but the songs are there.

Gold was not ignored by critics. Either way it heralded as th best out of his 90s output. And I dont overact to all of your posts, I do point out when you make crazy assed statements. We all do and not just to you, youre not that important so stop. Especially since times was up in November. Im glad youve stayed on though, hugs. "Climb in my fur."

But again, you react at one of my post saying that D&P was/is bashed by the fans, and it s true when you see the numbers of bashing topics this album had here. Personally I never knew why, since I live this album. So I think, like in the number sales thread that you overreact without really reading my posts. . Which is not constructive at all. . Of course, when Gold was released, critics talked about it. They reviewed it, that was their job. But it didn't make a lasting impact on the critics. Nobody talks about this album since 1996. . Strangely, Dirty Mind is on every list. .

RODSERLING is correct in that Gold Experience hasn't had much of a long-lasting impact in the way his 80s albums did. Probably because, for all its being a great album, it was hardly cutting edge or breaking new ground, and a lot of people just look back and see angry prince with slave on his face. Look back to the 80s and you see this cutting edge artist who was also on the top of the charts. It's not strange at all that Dirty Mind is on every list, it's a visionary album.

Look back to the 80s and you see this cutting edge artist who was also on the top of the charts. It's not strange at all that Dirty Mind is on every list, it's a visionary album. I challenge you to find an album by any artist around that time that legitimately broke new ground rather than just improved upon what existed. Nothing new under the sun. Dirty Mind is only visionary in that it marked a dramatic pivot for Prince. For all intents and purposes, it is where the Prince we knew was born. Is it a great album? Meh. I'm of the mind that it's no better than the two before it and he certainly did better iterations of whatever he accomplished on later albums. I never go to Dirty Mind over any of the other 80s albums. Gold Experience was lauded by critics not because it necessarily broke new ground (but I promise you that "Billy Jack Bitch" certainly did and I'd wager so did "I Hate U" and "Gold"), but that it is a pristine example of what makes Prince... Prince. Every concept Prince ever promoted, every aesthetic, every message is brought to bear on that record in stunning fashion. It is, frankly, a masterpiece. It is also the most tragic record in his catalog because it was overshadowed by drama then and remains as such today. Yet it is still one of his most timeless and brilliant albums to date. Certainly the shining star of the decade. [Edited 1/31/20 4:37am]
