Prince "Habibi" Guitar

I've heard that one of P's guitars was named Habibi (I've seen it called Habibe in some sites) which means "Baby" in Arabic, but I can't seem to pinpoint which design it was. I'm thinking it was the one that loked similar to the cloud design, but I've still not found any specifics.

Does anyone know if there's any kind of chart that dates and names all his guitar designs?

Specifically, the purple version of the Symbol guitar.

He had gold, black and white versions of this guitar, but the purple one specifically is the one he finally landed on and stayed with.

I told my wife about Habibi just in case it ever came up on Jeopardy!

It would have taken you less time to tell him it was the purple symbol guitar than it did to make yourself look like an unpleasant person.

lol so true, but honestly the answer to the question is easily found and would have taken less time and effort then asking it here.

Yes, what kind of dick-head would ask a Prince guitar question on a 'Prince fan community site'

Lol

I searched on google, but it was unspecific, and everone knows how reliable the internet is. I just reasoned that y'all hardcore fans would be more legit than google results.

Thank you for clarifying.

I love the white symbol one particularly, but I like the fact that Habibi was actually named. Not to mention that it's almost as iconic as the man himself. wink

Let me teach you something that you can pass on...

Whether you type a question into a Google search box or into a forum search box, you're getting the answer from a second-party on the Internet.

Literally, the only difference is that when you use a forum is that you're acquiring the information through a dialogue rather than by reading a static entry.

Do you believe there's something inherently inferior (lazy or nonintellectual) about acquiring information by means of dialogue? If so, you'd be wrong. Learning via dialogue requires just as much effort and is just as intellectually legitimate as learning via reading static entries.

Are you going to argue that posting a question in a forum requires extra work on the part of the responders, because they're required to type information that can be found elsewhere? If so, that's not a reasonable argument. Posting a question on a forum doesn't *require* you or anyone else to post duplicative information. No one is obligated to respond. If you can't be bothered typing in a response because the information exists elsewhere, then ignore the post. That's your prerogative. Other Org members are happy to type a response. Other Org members don't care if the response could be found in a Google search. You may wonder: "Why don't they care? Why don't they see it as duplicative effort?" Answer: because they enjoy engaging in a dialogue too.

After all, isn't the purpose of a forum to engage in dialogue?

Well, either your screen name is a form of the phrase "Never sin"' you're in the band NeversiN; or you're a fan of the band NeversiN. The guys in NeversiN seem pretty nice, so I'm going with the last option. If I'm wrong, feel free to tell me what's correct.

Never heard of that band before, but they sound like shit after I have now... I still don't see why I should let you know anything... Are you the "Prince.org" gatekeeper or something?

You don't have to tell me anything. But if you tell me I'm wrong yet won't supply the correct information then as far as I'm concerned, I'm right until shown otherwise.

Well, considering I live 100 feet from a ski trail and we got 8 inches of snow yesterday, I believe I will enjoy! Have a good one, and never sin!

It must be some kind of code related to Nine Inch Nails? I wouldn't know, I don't care for Trent Reznor's attempts at music.

I appreciate that you're having a conversation, but considering that it has nothing to do with my original post, could you please not?

I'm tired of all my posts being turned into Google scolds and arguments about god-knows-what,

LOL. Believe it or not, I've been on this site for 17 years and so has that guy. This is the first "conversation" we've ever had!

Anyway, pay no attention to those who tell you in harsh words that you should have Googled first. Any and all questions are welcome on this site, regardless of how much they irritate those with apparently nothing else to do.
