'When you were mine' on Dirty Mind
'Raspberry Beret' on ATWIAD
'Letitgo' on Come

confuse These are the signature songs of their respective albums.

I don't think Letitgo fits either.

The original version of the album that Prince submitted to WB didn't have it... it was added for the purpose of giving the album a stronger single, kind of like what happened with U Got the Look. IMHO, the original choice to end the album, Strays of the World, would have worked better (especially with Interactive and Endorphinmachine replacing Come).

I always prefered the original opening salvo
of Come/Endorphinmachine/Space
it worked really well.

"Letitgo" fits wonderfully on Come, it's just the way it's
positioned on the album that makes it sound weird. It's the
last track and yet it isn't with Orgasm still dangling on
as an appendix.

It might have fit better trading places with "Race" and
"Race" would have been better left alone the way it sounded
initially with the more 20's style sound and the long funky
outro. Tag on "Strays Of The World" instead of Orgasm at
the end and it would all sound more fluent.

I don't think there are many tracks that don't fit on the
albums they were on. I think what happens is people listen
to albums and tend to think the songs they don't like are
the ones that don't "fit" on the album.

Even "When2RInLove" works on The Black Album. It's probably
so weird to hear it come up where it does now, since we're
used to having it on Lovesexy for 6 years and then all of a
sudden it pops up on The Black Album where it was originally
intended to be. Perhaps it's because I got a tape of Black
very early on that I don't think it sounds out of place.

like the diversity.
Kiss fi is GREAT just where it is. Song one on side two.

"Lemon Crush" on the Batman album.I like this song, but it just feels out-of-place here and I can't really explain why.It sounds like it belongs on a regular (non-soundtrack) Prince album.

Really? I think that song fits the album absolutely perfectly. I would have said 'Arms of Orion' is the odd-one-out.

Love the song, but it just doesn't seem to fit.
