The Prince Estate and Legacy Recordings are pleased to announce the reissue of Prince's 2001 album The Rainbow Children and the box set Up All Nite with Prince, which includes the One Nite Alone... trilogy of releases.


The early 2000s were an intriguing and fertile time in Prince's career. In 2001, Prince released the concept album The Rainbow Children in the midst of an evolution of his spirituality and social consciousness. The next year, he released his 25th studio album, One Nite Alone..., an intimate and mostly solo piano album recorded at Paisley Park, and embarked on the One Nite Alone... Tour with his powerhouse NPG.


On Friday, April 17, The Rainbow Children will be available on CD for the first time in decades, and as a crystal-clear double LP with a limited-edition custom rainbow slipmat.


With the new 5-disc box set Up All Night with Prince, fans will have the opportunity to experience Prince in his many forms—from performing alone in the studio to partying late into the night with his powerhouse live band. Up All Night with Prince includes the studio album One Nite Alone..., plus Prince's first official live album One Nite Alone...Live!, the afterparty compilation One Nite Alone... The Aftershow: It Ain't Over!, and a DVD of Prince Live at The Aladdin Las Vegas.

All three of the One Nite Alone... releases will also be available for the first time on limited-edition purple vinyl.

I keep looking on UK amazon but can’t see it, am I looking right! Would love it on vinyl but across two discs is a bit of a pain.

I could actually kinda do with a slip mat, so I don't need to be asked twice to buy one with a Prince album packaged with it...

The original was also across two discs... it would be too long to fit on one.

I think that's the limited edition. I couldnt find that version on amazon when the links got posted, so i cancelled my TRC preorder from years ago and ordered this limited version through RSD

I guess this is clear so you can see the slip mat underneath.

I have never had a clear record before. I hope there isn't a compromise on sound quality.

Clear vinyl, picture discs and glow-in-the-dark pressings are more susceptible to poor playback. Very few additives can be mixed into clear vinyl without jeopardizing the opacity, which means there is a potential for worse sound quality, albeit this drop is often imperceptible to the common listener.

Wasn't it originally on vinyl? I saw one in a shop not very long ago. Is it worth something? I could still go get it, doubt that anybody here knows what that is smile

The original vinyl pressing has previously sold for a lot, but I read that the quality of that pressing isn't good.
