Reflection on Prince's Reflection....

When I first heard this song, the first thing I thought of was For You. This song could have been on that album. nod

The second thing I thought of was how unbelievably honest and personal this song is. It just sounds like some thing he wrote while sitting around the house, thinking about life.

I do think the rim-taps are a little to loud, but other than that, the song's great.

Simple. Raw. True.

This songs helps PROOVE TRC was Prince's BEST gamble ever. It helped him find what he was missing in his music.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Prince is back.

I totally agree. That was my impression too. I don't think I realized until ONA how rarely he writes like that. His songs are emotional, but rarely feel very personal, like you can imagine knowing the person who wrote the song.

I love The Truth, and I love ONA, so I guess it's not surprising that I love this song.

nod

If things continue down the current path even people who don't like "TRC' are going to be thanking it for reawakening him as an artist.

And this song is no doubt one of his most personal. He's out on the front stoop sharing his most intimate of fragmented thoughts.

And I also agree with RDHULL, except I'll go one step further and say that if this had been included on "The Truth" it would be one of the finest 2 or 3 songs on that terrific album.

But for those who are hoping for fun, or funk, or innovation, or rock, or electric, are not likely to be too overjoyed.

But what a beautiful, naked little song. guitar

The first thing I thought of when I heard this song is "She Loves Me For Me" This song to me is very boring. It isnot even a good slow song. I hope he does better in the future.

See even in that case, I love "She Loves Me For Me". So I will have to totally disagree with you...
