My only problem with this thread. Y not talk about his fashion, hair, etc? It was all a part of the package. Yeah he's gone n there r no what ifs but still. But this has been beaten to death up here n it always disenigrates into wigs n whatnot. Meh.

Prince is not “gone”.

I think he used wigs or extensions as early as 1984.

To answer this question, yes Prince probably would have changed his hairstyle if he was still alive. He was notrious of changing his style every couple of years, so this more than likely would of happened.

Did he use hair dye? Yes. He did have an image to up keep, not sure why he would dye a wig though.

The question of did he wear a wig? No one here was Prince's personal hairstylist, so NO ONE here knows. NO ONE. If he did? So what. If he didn't? So what.

People need to chill here when someone asks a question they feel is dumb, stupid, irrelavent, etc.. Just because you may think that way, doesn't mean you need to trash the person who posted it, if they have a question, they are within there right to ask it with non bullying responses.

If Prince were alive,

would he wear tangas & jocks ?

...or changed for briefs and boxers ?

...or would he have plastic surgery ?

...or would he change 3rdEyeGirl for another old Power Generation or ex-Revolution ?

...or would he've done more remasters ?

Would he've emptied his Vault (for us) ?

I have it on good authority that in 2017 the afro was going to be straightened, leaving him with the Batman/Grafitti Bridge look. Would have been amazing to see that again.

By the way, when I say good authroity, I mean total speculation on my part.

I Figured He Would Probably Start The Process All Over Again Because What I Say Is That HE Came Full Circle And You Can Tell With The Hair He Started With A Fro And Ended With A Fro Like The Lunar Cycle Wouldn't Be Surprised If He Went Back To The PRINCE Album Cover Look Heck I Slick Think He Might've Went The Dreads Route Too

I believe he was tender headed, outside of that rave time his hair was always worn loose, unbounded. Heck even those rave things were loose.

Interesting! (Although the Caps Are a little tough to get through). If Prince’s hair was really reddish-brown, then maybe the grandparent he had no information about was Irish! lol

I believe he would have shaved his head. Maybe after he got out of rehab. Gone for some oversized sunglasses & put out a jazz album. I can see that look working.

Nah. From his tracking record he would had change it to a different style if he had lived longer. I think that Afro was his full circle hairstyle.

There is one major tell a new hairstyle was coming, and that is the fact that a new guitar and bass, very different from anything in the past, were going to be a part of his next reinvention. The fretboard of that bass had led's in it, was going to light up everywhere he pressed, what a sight it would have been to see him play this.

fro

Jesus Christ. This is the worst thread idea I’ve ever seen - and I’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years, so I seen a few shockers. I remember back in the day we would discuss cool stuff like, for example, how he dropped that awesome bass track from Partyman to emulate the part with his mouth. About how no-one else in the pop world would have the balls to do such thing and release it as a single. Or the talent. About how he wouldn’t even mention things like that, how he would make you find them yourself, wee Easter Eggs in the music for the real heads. This...is shit. Sorry, I’m not trolling, but up your game. And, for the record, it was a wig. Nothing against that, but it wasn’t an Afro - it was a wig.

lol And what was under the wig, braids or shaved bald head??? biggrin razz

1. Prince wasn't wearing a wig.

2. Prince wasn't losing his hair.

3. I believe Prince was coming full circle with his career. He started with an afro and he ended with an afro. Had Prince been with us still, I think Prince would have gone with the long locks like the "Prince/Lovesexy" look next and maybe he could have gone with the punk cut during the Dirty Mind era, and then cuts from the subsequent eras.

I only say this as it seemed Prince was rebooting his music/sound as if it were the beginning again. I think we would have gotten new tracks and updated vault tracks.

One of the last pictures Prince took shows his afro with it pulled in such a way that you could see his scalp, something that cannot be done with a full on wig. Did he wear piece, maybe, maybe not, I'll vote no because that does take a lot of time keeping it together and he seemed not to be spend a whole lot of time on his hair. Yes his hair was much thinner than it was in his youth so his 50 yo afro never could look like his 20 yo afro, but that doesn't automatically translate to he was wearing a wig just because he said he would in a song once.

I promise that scraggly fro was not a damn wig. Prince had a hairstylist who could pick the wig out. That was a thinning, self picked, slept on afro cuz he was tired of spending a quarter of his tender-headed life in a damn salon chair.

You gotta wash and care for wigs and to me it looks like he did not. (as often as it needed)

He needed hair augmentation for the updo in early to mid 2000's. How can he then go to a wig with only small areas of 'scalp' showing?

Very few 57 year old men have hairlines like that.

Dream on, though.
