Alabama Shakes Gimme All Your Love Prince Solo The 1999 Prince Podcasts have provided some great insights into not only the reissued album but Prince as the performer. In the last Podcast the lead singer Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes shared a story on how Prince invited the band to Paisley Park to perform and how he asked the band if he could join them as they play Gimme All Your Love (evidently Prince was a fan of this song). Brittany described how she was dissapointed that Prince didn't jump into the song as promised as they began finishing it up onstage then out of nowhere Prince comes on and plays a legendary solo.
Such as great story as this was probably one of my favorite jams back in 2016. I imagine this performance was recorded (I hope!) and was wondering if anyone knows if this has been circulated?

I saw them first on SNL and noticed she was wearing lil prince heads for earrings and thought, "I'll bet I like this band." And I did. Saw them live and she has a brilliantly powerhouse voice.

I don't think this has circulated. I was at the show. It was in the soundstage at Paisley Park. Here's a local article and pic of them in the soundstage. https://blog.thecurrent.o...EWd7c0y-Ew . TRUE BLUE

I just listened to this podcast yesterday and this story was a highlight of the program. I never saw or heard this performance but would’ve loved to see it. She also mentioned that Prince told her before the show that he really liked that song and asked for some time to learn it so he could go up and jam with them. (I interpreted ‘some time’ to mean like a few minutes or something ridiculously impossible for the average Joe but not unlike something Prince would do). I love seeing clips of impromptu Prince performances.

Love the basketball. That is probably why Prince invented the symbol. You have that on both sides of the hall, and if you hit the "circle" in the middle of the symbol, you get 2 points

Wow that's incredible! What I would give to have been there. Alabama Shakes has gotten some heavy rotation from me over the last couple of days. I've seen them in concert and Brittany just have an incredible sound.
Too bad there was no recording. Hey WB and Estate if your listening...may I suggest a future release of the songs bands have played with Prince at Paisley Park! Surely these were recorded from the soundboard.

I didn't mean for it to sound like there was no recording. I just meant that I don't think it is circulating. I'm pretty sure a recording probably exists. TRUE BLUE

You bet! I have to be honest, I didn't really know their music. I really enjoyed it. Brittany is a very animated performer. The soundstage was packed and Judith Hill was standing right in front of me during the show. Of course Prince stole the show. TRUE BLUE

I was sitting next to Prince in the back right corner of Paisley Park that night. He was pacing back forth the entire show, seemed to be taking in the music and really living it.
