Best thing about the eventual "Sign 'O' The Times" deluxe edition... On the eve of hearing all the vault tracks on the "1999" deluxe set, I've been thinking about what I'm hoping will be on future reissues. . I only really have one big "holy grail": a clean, remastered (hopefully) version of "In A Large Room With No Light". My favorite unreleased track. I'm fiending for this. Recorded in June 1986 and initially planned for the "Dream Factory" album, it should fall under the "Sign" sessions timeline. ("Parade" was released in March 1986, so there's no way it could be on that set.) . Man, if I get that in the next few years... I'm gonna be one happy camper.

As much as I like the concept of super deluxe editions, it feels like a waste putting these gems on there instead of compiling a brand new album that would get much more attention. [Edited 11/26/19 12:11pm]

An orger after my own heart...it quite literally is my favorote unreleased as well. And is in my top 10 songs by him.
The Montreux 09 version never did quite move me the way the 86 version did. Atlanta, Eric and Norbert were phenomenal and really drove the song for me. "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

. I actually agree with you! It would be cool to hear every configuration of "Dream Factory", or "Crystal Ball", in super-clear remastered sound. (I know people have assembled these versions from bootleg songs, but it's just not the same.) But if all we can get are a few unreleased songs here and there, then I'm okay with that. . While we're at it, I should mention I'd love the aborted "Camille" album in all its glory, too.

I was talking more about the Estate compiling a brand new album out of outtakes from that period. Look at the songs that were left on the cutting room floor in 86. A Place In Heaven Everybody Want What They Don't Got It Ain't Over 'Til The Fat Lady Sings Love And Sex (different to the 1984 released track) Nine (instrumental) (different to the released Madhouse track) Susannah's Blues (instrumental) When The Dawn Of The Morning Comes Witness 4 The Prosecution

It would be better to limit vault tracks on these super deluxe releases to alternate versions of tracks from the project and maybe tracks that were verified to at one time be on an alternate configuration of the album. Bearing in mind that SOTT is a double album and the sheer amount of possible vault material, I think they would/should limit the vault tracks on that one. They definitely need to do something else with the vault rather than just deluxe sets

All Prince albums of 1978-1992 should be remastered and re-released, SOTT getting a deluxe/box-set treatment (Camille and Dream Factory tunes , B-sides, remixes, rarities, unreleased, demos, live, etc),like 1999.
Damn, if Chaos and Disorder is being re-released, SOTT should as well. [Edited 11/27/19 6:08am]

In a Large Room with No Light is also my favourite unreleased track too, and 1986-1987 is my favourite Prince period. Everything he released and didn't release (that I've heard) during this era is just pure gold. There must have been something in the water at this time. As much as I enjoy 1999 and Purple Rain, it's Sign O' the Times and Parade that I want to see expanded and remastered most.
It's my belief that releasing well-circulated stellar unreleased tracks like Rebirth of the Flesh, Witness 4 the Prosecution, In a Large Room..., Cosmic Day, etc., would really wow casual Prince fans and the general public more than any other unreleased song they've put out since Price's passing.
