I read in the news a letter written by Prince reveals he didn't like Katy Perry or Ed Sheeran and didn't want their music "jammed down our throats".

I thought Prince liked Katy Perry. He was quoted to have liked her voice, and they appeared together at a fashion show nearly 10 years ago.

I may be in the minority but I like Katy Perry's music. To me, it's uplifting and happy. As for Katy Perry herself, some people call her a moron who has no concept about reality. I kinda do think she looks a bit too ditzy where it's annoying, but I take her music anyday. Ed Sheeran is OK, not my kind of music, but don't understand why Prince didn't like them.

If you consider Prince's genre, it's mainly funk/ dark pop/ dance/ rock, so he's from a different musical world altogether.

I think she's pretty great in small doses, truthfully. Some great pop songs.
