this is my favorite Prince misheard lyric song I had this song on the boot as soon as it appeared in low quality, fell in love with it, and sung all that time even a totally differen title. Actually up to this day i sing my own lyrics cause i like them more

Honest to god, up until reading this thread right now, I was convinced that "Isn't your life elastic" was the correct lyric. I've never had any reason to look it up or think otherwise! Damn, I'm actually a little shocked right now.

I'm trying to think back to other Prince lyrics I've mistaken or misheard and I'm sure there are lots of examples, but two that immediately spring to mind are...

funny right. i mean an elastic life could potentially be a positive thing, resiliency, ability to recover from difficult things, etc. so it wasn't THAT out of place as a potential lyric. ESPECIALLY compared to some other misheard examples in this thread. Hilarious!

When he sings "Minor G is the chord of pleasure", I always thought it was "My energy is the chord of pleasure".

LOL--I file this song under the category of:

Loving the music and singing; have barely a clue toward what some of those lyrics are, he having sung such high and long notes.

THe trippy picture shoo is a reference to a joke about how Ed Sullivan used to pronouce show- when he used to say "we have a really big show tonight"

In this case, Prince is using the phrase to explain how the Joker's lust feels like watching a trippy movie. Back in the day people use to talk about going to the movies as going to see a picture.
