wow. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Prince when he was (actually) sleeping. Or shaving. I'm asking for this book for Christmas.

Could anybody that has the book already please get a little into the details regarding the content?
* Are there longer stories in the book or just captions for the photos? * Does it really cover 25 years with Prince? From the online articles like The Rolling Stone one I get the impression that the book only covers the period 1992 - 1994 and the year 2007 in more detail.
I don't care that much about the pictures, actually I bought the 21 Nights book and found all these staged photos rather horrible... So if I will buy it, it is because of the stories, like with Steve Parke's book - which of course was a lot cheaper.
So do you think it is worth it from that point of view?
Thanks a lot! | |

I've had this on pre-order from amazon since January 25th. But I see it's already for sale on Amazon and I don't have any shipping confirmation from them

There are some longer stories, but beautiful as the book is, I would not buy it if I were you. The book does indeed mostly cover 1991-1994 + 2007, with some pics from Coachella and from 2014 as well.
And as others have mentioned some pics are rather blurry, the text has some typos, and she doesn't seem to get her chronology right. She writes about doing a shoot after one of the 1993 NYC RCMH shows, but the pics following are from 1994, with 'slave' on his cheek.
Still, I don't regret getting it. I paid 57 EUR (pre-ordered ages ago, received it yesterday). [Edited 11/22/19 9:30am] This is not music, this is a trip
No, it's not a drug, it's something more hip Don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine Purple music does the same to my brain

Thanks a lot! It’s worth it. The photos are many and beautiful and the stories are nice too. I’m not understanding the “blurry and grainy images” critique. We live in the age of HD where people have a hard time understanding the art of photography. It looks like the photos were probably done on film rather than digital. I would say it’s the best Prince photo book published thus far although I did enjoy the stories in Steve Parke’s book, I’d see every single one of his photos.

I'm waiting for a book. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

This set of pictures is better than the 21 nights photo book and has great photo's in it. I do like the Sacrafice of Victor book better though. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Me too. He has not said there will definitely not be a book so I'll wait. I can't afford those limited prints. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

I don't need Prince photo's on my walls. A book will suffice. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
