The Prince Estate, which assumed management of the...tive today, has announced new developments in the company’s organizational structure and operations. Alan Seiffert is Paisley Park’s new Executive Director, effective today, the estate has also engaged two entertainment-development companies, MR-ProFun and Mycotoo, to enhance the overall experience for guests touring the facility, which was Prince’s estate, studio and home, and is now a museum.

The involvement of the 2 companies sounds intriguing.

It looks like they slighty changed the format to buying PP tickets. Kinda nervous and excited to find out what happens after november. I hope they continue after dark parties in NPG room and live music events in soundstage.

I moved to Minnesota back in April and have been attending the After Dark Parties at least once a month but often 2 times a month. It has been a cool experience. Lenka Paris is this week's DJ. I am excited yet nervous about what kinds of changes I will see (if there are any) this weekend. I just really most of all hope I dont pull up to a whole new staff instead the usual faces that I see working there.

I'm VERY excited by these two new development partners. I've always felt Graceland did just enough to keep Prince's(r.i.p.) massive sprawling PaisleyPark just under enough not to surpass Graceland's Elvis museum.

How could it ever surpass Graceland? PP is in suburbia 30 miles or so from Minneapolis with not much else around it and no real opportunity for expansion.

Expansions will come when the money rolls in which it will...Paisley Park is a future GOLDMINE.

Where is there room to expand? I guess maybe the property right across the street but I'm not sure if the estate can do anything with it.

You'll see no changes this weekend, except maybe for merchandise. The staff is still the same, except for one. I met Alan at the Nooky Jones show. He seemed nice enough.

So now there are TWO new companies involved, all in the business of making a profit for themselves, before a cent goes back into Paisley Park!

.

Why need two companies? How big is this 'Paisley Park' anyway?

Why can't the estate handle this by themselves?

Is it that hard and specific?

I would love to have the Paisley Park plans to include eventually firing up those studios and that soundstage to function regularly once again. I wouldn't want to have that complex fall completely into the role of history museum. I'd like for it to remain at the heart a living institution. That's my faraway dream, anyway. I guess that kind of action would take a ton of cash and community support.

There's several acres right across the street, owned by the estate as well as The Egg which should be developed. Downstairs at PP are his vehicles, stored in the parking garage. Upstairs are former offices and visitors' bedrooms. All of those could be added into the tours (but not his private areas).

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I think The Egg would be a great space for the gift shop/store . . . somewhere that people can visit and buy from without always going on the PP tour.

I'm envisioning long banners hanging from the ceiling and large photos lining the perimeter above the windows. The product stuff would be in smaller kiosks on the floor.

The only drawback is that it's not connected to the main building, so people on tours would have to walk through whatever weather is happening at the time.

The benefits would be larger footprint, ability to offer longer/different hours than PP, and you'd free up that space within PP for something else.
