Hope not. Prince's original vision for the record should be respected. Release Vault track under a clearly marked Demos banner. I get that these type of "Deluxe" versions are the norm in an industry where actual artists are rare, and few if any have creative control over a re-release, but Prince Estate has more power than this. He was clear about not wanting his original vision diluted in this way.

True. But those things are valid, because he chose to make those changes facing the issues in front of him at the time. The artist's intent should be respected. He really was bothered about having things reworked after his passing and didn't want it. The could easily name the record "1982 Demos" or something. It's the marketing of The Vault material that's not in line with his values, not the release of the music itself.

How about new mixes from the Multi-Track Masters?

Like in the above mentioned New Master there was a Latin bit... that was also recorded in the 82 original...but left out of the final mix...

In the end, many of the released albums are compromises, not in the least due to technical limitations. D&P suddenly gained "Gett Off" at a late stage, mostly because of commercial reasons: was that the "intent"?

The thanksgiving thing is weird... but it is a big sales day in the US...(for those that may not know many outlets open at late on Thanksgiving for big sales that run through Friday.)

Yeah, it will be interesting to see. If the 4 cd/30 unreleased tracks rumour is true, I'd put it as 1 remastered album, 2 discs of outtakes, 1 cd live show, and then the dvd.

But speculation can be dangerous!
