I'm just a bit confused by this: could you elaborate? (How do you know? Do you have both tapes?) Thx
I thought it was genuine hence why I'd like to know more
I have a few copies of the old trade tape. I thought it would've made it to bootlegs... There's the exact same noise profile with an annoying hum just above the 15khz range... FBG did a decent job of removing it but I can see where it was. They also exposed whatever music was above the 16khz range with their NR... Which I did the same with identical results... I have yet to compare the other tracks on D&P Beginnings to the trade tape but I'm sure whatever tracks they share, they stem from the trade tape (it's a good quality recording, so I don't blame them...)
Thx
So Schoolyard was also on that full D&P tape, in the same version? Why would they use another version? |

Didn't the Undertaker leak come from one of the official CDs that survived somehow? |

For all I know, that bootleg could be made up of 3 or 4 tapes... But I think more likely is just 2. I don't know what their source looked like or if they just got ahold of a part of the config and needed tracks from elsewhere to make it genuine. The only difference with "Schoolyard" between the 2 copies is really the fade out which is a bit more subtle and longer, and more can be exposed with skilled noise reduction and tweaking. I don't know why they did that or if their copy they recieved was tagged like that... [Edited 8/21/19 15:04pm]usually known as "Leaped7689" |

I always thought it was the video, because wasn't the CD just the audio we hear in the video, mostly?
Either way, talk about a release worthy of purchase.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Firstly, a big 'thank you' to Jaawwnn for bringing Box O' Chocolates to my attention.

isnt the parade test pressing the one with all my dreams and old friends 4 sale?
.
Hi Jfenster The first configuration of Parade ended with Old Friends and All My Dreams back to back. The best version I’ve heard is from 4DaFunk who claim to have sourced the material from “A low gen tape”. A spectral analysis seems to suggest that all the songs were sourced from the same tape (although I claim to be no expert at reading spectrals).

I've heard that the bootleg album that's in circulation was sourced from one of the pressed CDs, however The Undertaker home video was released on laser disc in Japan so you can get just as clean of a rip from that as you could a CD. |

Side note: I can say with 100% certanty that Love Symbol As Intended is fan made. I've just run spectral tests on two different lossless versions and there are clear giveaways that the restored interludes are not from the same source as the rest of the album.
I'll update the list when I get a chance. |

There are many differences between the audio and video version. As for the source of the leak I'm not sure because it could have been a surviving CD or from an in-house CD. |

Thx. I'm a bit disappointed, I really believed it was genuine Like I said, "Schoolyard" is sourced from some old tape... IMO, it's just as cool as the supposed Nov. '90 config (No "Gett Off", "MDMTN", or "Cream"... But that other version of "Horny Pony" starts it off) usually known as "Leaped7689" |

I'm a purist so I love to have the things exactly as Prince left them. But of course it remains a great attempt at recreating it as it is
My dream now is to have Corporate World as it was, since what we have has also been tinkered with |

It was sourced from an original (1987) vinyl. Any differences would come from the bootleggers "mastering" of that vinyl to CD.
