anywho. missing the obvious tracks, for the obvious reasons. shame, really

but good sign is that "vagina" is included so we're assured that, just like "we can fuck" etc, the
issue is not naughty lyrics or ott sexuality. the issue is the rape lyrics.

and i'm guessing there won't be many more songs in the vault mentioning rape, so we should be
good to go on most other tracks.

who knows, maybe this will entice some people to let go of their pristine versions of these tracks
in the future. although, the last ones we have are pretty decent quality already, aren't they?

i don't like it when they mess with the original artwork. i considered collecting all the remasters
on cd and not just as digitals, but when i was looking at PR Deluxe in the store again, last week,
i couldn't get myself to buy it. digipack and that silver/metal 'design', nah.

On November 15, Warner Brothers Music will return to 1999 with a Super Deluxe package that will be reissued on 5CD/1DVD and 10LP/1DVD box sets. Both sets will feature new remastering for the classic album, as well as deliver a collection of vault tracks, promo mixes and B-sides, and a previously unreleased live performance set from a Detroit show on November 30, 1982. The DVD will provide video for his previously unreleased live set at The Summit in Houston, TX on December 29, 1982. The boxes are rounded out with a stuffed booklet of new liner notes, detailed Vault Tracks notes, rare photos, and copies of the lyrics in handwritten form.

Warner Brothers Records will also release 4LP and 2CD versions of 1999 that include the original album, and the promo mixes and B-sides, all with 2019 remaster.

But, yeah, I could do with less rockabilly-tracks on unreleased-CDs. I'm not a big fan of these, and the already released ones are the best anyway

Surprised it is such a large set, you'd think that would make it really risky from a commercial point of view. Like you could easily lose the 7 inch edits that everyone hates, maybe drop some of the more widely available songs that are already "out there" officially or not, and maybe just include one live performance rather than two, and you'd have a very compelling and affordable 3x CD set.

Not that I'm complaining! I guess it makes most sense to target the hardcore fans with expansive and expensive sets. Keep it coming I say.
