The preview button isn't working for me. I'm gonna assume the video is just a redux of NC2U though, so I'm probably not missing much

It's not, it uses new unreleased rehearsal footage.

From seeing all of this footage, I would actually love them to release this rehearsal footage with audio. I've seen the bootleg footage, but these seem to be in better quality than what I've seen.

If it's as gross as NC2U was, poorly synched since from another song and turning Prince into a ridiculous dancing clown, that's a new low.

In a way that infuriates me even more than the probable tinkering of the recordings, that's basically pissing on P's urn. But I'll wait until it's on Yt and I can see it to decide how I feel about it.

I saw the whole video, yes it's basically some footage from the NC2U and some new unseen rehearsal footage.

Anyway yes it's just a hodgepodge of rehearsal footage with no sync to the song.

The worst part is, I understand the need for a promo video for marketing video. But it could have been a fun lyrics video, an animated, anything. But now, that would have required a budget, so why bother when you can just poorly edit a cheap VHS rehearsal video...

So putting aside the debate about the recordings because there still remain some doubt, I'll say it again if only because of the video: boycott that fucking album, don't stream it, don't purchase it, download it illegally if you wanna hear it, but let us not encourage them to do more of this nonsense!!

I agree, this is a lazy attempt, tbh like almost everything released so far. The original cd also has no liner notes, just a flimsy fold out sheet with a sentence per each song.

All this rehearsal footage should've been included in a bonus disc, if it was the PR tour footage, should've been included in a proper box set PR DELUXE, but obviously we will never get such thing.

At this point the estate is basically just doing as little as possible to "please" the hard core fans, with subpar releases, no regards to liner notes or packaging, and don't get me started on album concept, song selection, audio quality, etc...

But hey, we get like 50 versions of NC2U in a one year period, the mean time Omar is throwing baseballs at every Twins game that sells Prince merchandise now.

Oh well, enough ranting, maybe in 10 years we will get a proper box set, when everyone hereis almost on the verge of using a hearing aid

Those rehearsals may be invading a little into P's privacy, but then so was P&AM83, but at the end the day if you watch/listen to it P and the band will blow your mind even if P was in a training/experimetative mood.

But those footages re-edited unto any music into any music just to provide footage, and not even from live shows that P intended people to see (as if we didn't have any of those in the vault!) but of him in the warehouse, nearly in pajamas, just playing with the band and trying new moves on cameras, that's really disrespectful.

Looks like they took unused material from the NC2U video and used it for this.

Just watched it, interesting, but I'd rather hear the actual audio for the footage.

I also watched it. The video for Nothing Compares 2 U I really liked.

For Manic Monday they decided to use more or less the same concept. It works not as good for this song and it's kind of lame. They did not put that much effort and thought into this video. They just decided to copy the idea for the Nothing Compares 2 U video to another song.

Still it's nice to see new rehearsal footage! And I like the song.

This is exactly what i would like to see coming out from the vault - full length, with the original music of course!

So bascially the song and the video do not belong together.

The next footage that will be released will be the music video for the Extralovelable '82 for 1999 Deluxe, featuring Parade tour rehearsal footage.

Really cool to see more of that rehearsal footage but as a dancer who has worked on plenty of video edits

It would have been real nice for whoever worked on the editing to have made the dancing and other segments fit with the footage. Even something as simple as having the clips cut on beat. To me it looked like someone just pieced together the clips without any context or even listening to the song. Very amateur

I hope the estate releases some of that footage with the matching audio playing. That would be incredible!

Yep. Rehearsal footage is cool, but to mix it with a completely unrelated song for a promo music video seems... very arbitrary. And to do it twice within a year? That's just laziness

I guess it's better than nothing?
