PBS to air Rave Un2 Joy Fantastic June 1

On New Year's Eve 1999, Prince promoted his album Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic with the iconic pay-per-view special, Prince In Concert: Rave Un2 the Year 2000. It has not been broadcast since. Now, the Prince estate has partnered with Public Television to share this electrifying concert with everyone.
On Saturday, June 1, Prince In Concert: Rave Un2 the Year 2000 will air on PBS affiliates nationwide in primetime. Witness Prince as he guided his fans from one millennium to another singing timeless hits like “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Purple Rain,” and “Raspberry Beret,” and deeper cuts like “She’s Always In My Hair,” plus songs from Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic like “Baby Knows” and “The Greatest Romance Ever Sold.” Filmed at Paisley Park Studios, the special also features guest artists including Morris Day & the Time, Maceo Parker, Larry Graham, Rosie Gaines, George Clinton, and Lenny Kravitz.
Check your local listings and don't miss your opportunity to view Prince In Concert: Rave Un2 the Year 2000 this Saturday!

Great that it'll be available for everyone to watch for free. Unfortunately, one of the most poorly edited Prince concerts ever to see an official release.

Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

That show had some great moments. It has my favorite live version of "She's Always In My Hair". It was also cool to see he and Lenny Kravitz jamming together. As Prince fans we can be a jaded bunch, but make no mistake, even this show this blows most artists of this generation out of the water.

Lol the estate is outdated as his "family" Funny how they all showed up in the end when they really had no contact with him for years and years and years...

Omar? Hahaha come on, how many times you think they both talked in the last 20 years.

Release it. Just kidding. It is good to reach different markets and to expand Prince's reach for his legacy.

I actually pawned my copy of Rave years back.I just didn't like it once I got into the Prince bootleg scene.Recently though,I bought the Rave CD/DVD set.The concert was actually better than I remember it.
But Prince playing on the same station as the Lawrence Welk show? eek
Makes me feel like a old geezer

With this generation, you could play them "Purple House" from this concert and they'll be thinking to themselves "Wow, he really is as good as Hendrix". It's an mic drop moment, for real.

PBS isn't airing it locally on Saturday.

Instead of P, they are airing Josh Groban from Madison Square Garden lol lol

I did the pay per view thing back in the day, and didn't really think it was all that great. But, I was at my girlfriend's place, and she owned ferrets. I never have a good time with a ferret in the room, let alone multiples. Maybe I will appreciate it now that I am a little older, less distracted, and ferret-free.

It's on regular PBS in Arizona, too - which is where I'll be on Saturday. I wonder if I can get my parents (who are in their 80s) to watch it? hmmm lol
