I think it's unfair to label us (those that lurk in P&R or GD) as not tending to know much about Prince. Personally, I find there is very little that inspires me to post anymore in PM&M, but I lurk. I'm sure others post in PM&M but lurk in GD and P&R. Doesn't make anyone less knowledgeable than anyone else.

I'm going by individual experiences with members. Over a long period of time.

I'm definitely a #7 but sometimes I have #6 tendencies. The Time albums are some of my favorite ever

. No, 'those that troll as a destiny'. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I can spell Montreaux just fine--I just can't spell Montreux to save my life.
I also can't say it. Or figure out how it's said (even though I've been told). So I have to spell it wrong every time before I work my way to spelling it right--and it still looks wrong to me. Is there really no chance people will just agree to add an a into it to make life easier for me?

I cosign Penny's comments. I also don't understand why the Org join date has any bearing on being a fan. As one of the "bandwagon jumpers", I would like to thank Penny for her opinion and let you know that "we" are still here! I don't post as often simply because there is an orger who joined that likes to suck the life out of every conversation I enjoyed participating in. I do come to the site often and read various threads....what some may call lurking (ah, the good ol' days!). Oh, and I do still listen to Prince's music daily as well. PS & btw...probably a combo of 1 & 3! "Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence......." ~ DESIDERATA ~ Max Ehrmann

I'm a total fan since Purple Rain album. Though of course I knew 1999 too by then,. I remeber at my granmoithers wake a cousin of mine, Serena. She said he was shit and gay and she didnt like When Doves Cry. I was only 12 years old the time and I shot her down and it was that day I realised . I am a fan. All my other cousins just looked at me and my outburst at Serena lol Looking for a new man. Freaks need not apply. Freeeks can tho ;-p

I have been a fan since 1999 came out. My two older brothers and I played the album til it wore out, lol. We were all fanatics after Purple Rain came out and followed him throughout the 80's of course and through the early 90's but then dropped off a bit, but was still keeping up with what he was doing although I wasn't buying any of the albums. I always had Purple Rain and Sign of the Times though. He was always one of my faves but since his death I have been discovering the music he released over the years and re-discovering some stuff I had not heard in a while. I knew he was always jamming and kept putting out music frequently. Found the org a couple of years ago. So not sure what number I would be but I certainly ain't a bandwagonner, lol.
