why did you go? I've heard those things about Muhammad Ali's mansion in the 80's, big, huge places aren't always that welcoming or convey the warmth of the owner. Ali scaled down many years ago and lived a lot simpler in later years.

I always suspected that Prince and Lionel had some sort of speaking relation ship although he's only mentioned it a couple times. i also suspected Prince was a huge fan. In one of his first interviews, might have even been his very first after his career began, he mentioned three times a lady as a song so good it couldn't be stopped. I also thought some of Prince's piano mannerisms came from lionel as well as a few of his piano melody's. The purple rain/piano version in the movie always came across as a bit lionelish.

People seem to be aging better these days. Thank goodness because I like most fans am in between Prince's and Lionels age. Nice show.

He didn't deserve to win AOTY over Prince and Springsteen. Biggest Grammys upset.

i didn't know he won it, i don't remember. that album was solid though, a great album. A little too clean overall, too much production, session musicianship but a strong album.

Because black don't crack. I don't know why people go to the plastic surgery reasoning when someone just looks good. He was a little makeup-heavy on the show, but show me anyone in showbiz who doesn't have some foundation on.

I ran into Lionel Richie in my doctors office building after hours. He didn't think anyone was going to be there & I startled him.

I love Lionel and I'm a huge fan of his. He looks great...but I agree with mynameisnotsusan. I remember watching the news when his second wife got busted in a undercover botox black market ring.

You think I'm jealous? That's cute. I can give you a guarantee that I know and have worked with a lot more of these people than you. Not only that, but I've actually worked with them. As in WITH them. As in COLLABORATED with them. Which I'd bet you never have. What are you, an extra? Craft services, maybe? I'm also friends with several of them. I got married in January and quite a few of these famous people you seem to worship so much were at my wedding. The difference is that I don't need to mention it all the time in order to make myself seem special or interesting. Of course he's aged, just like everyone other human on the planet does! Plus, it's hard to believe that he doesn't get any type of procedure done to himself, he is in the entertainment business after all, and those people are obsessed with trying to stay young, and often resort to all kinds of stuff to do so, I don't think Lionel is an exception.

I said a while ago Lionel has had plastic surgery. You can easily tell by looking at older pictures that his face is tighter now than it was in 1984.

As far as the interview, I watched when it aired last week. I couldn't stop laughing when he said Prince was not pleased about the thought of being placed next to Michael. I think Prince could have put his shyness and eccentric behavior aside for a bit. I mean, Tina Turner managed. She was never fond of associating with American singers after she left Ike.

I don't know about any of that, aside from Prince doing charity quietly. I just think it was Prince doing Prince. He walked his own way for his entire career, and it worked out pretty well. I mean in your wildest dreams, can you picture Prince in that room? That was not who he was on any of the days that we knew him.

It's funny how in death whose considered the angel now.

Alot of people were not there, and alot werent part of the "Band Aid" project and We are the World was nothing more than an answer to that. They wanted an "american version" to the British version and thats why you got what you got, it also was a hurried thing, get here now etc...even though Bob Geldof rushed with Band Aid, he and Midge Ure (the writer) put a little more time into it, though the recording and video shoot all had to be done in one shot. Was never crazy about We are the World even then something about it always was fishy, maybe it was Kenny Rogers and Ken Kragen that made me think that.
