Exactly. PBS stays on air via some federal $$, but mainly through public donations. Just like my favorite radio station which is publicly funded. Us local lovers of real music keep it going so we don’t have to hear Ariana Grande or the latest “boy” group - wait..what’s the name of the latest one... hang on, I’ll ask my 12 yr old daughter...It’s BTS . Very thankful for that station and another that plays decent 80’s/90’s music.

Reply I got back from my local PBS station, New Orleans: Prince - Rave Un2 The Year 2000 - our airdate is June 16, at 10:30pm.
The concert is part of PBS pledge programs stations can choose to air in their market during June pledge, but not necessarily showing in all markets.

Well, it was on here last night on PBS. (Monday) I have neer seen the concert in it's entireity, just various parts. I myself was not crazy about all the Larry Graham footage that they included. Where he sang one of the verses on "The Christ" solo, he really did not sound that good. Especially having just listened to Prince sing before him.
In my opinion, the parts that they did air seemed disjointed, like a mis-match. People that were not Prince fans probably didn't get some of the fading from certain Prince songs into another if they were not tht familiar with his entire catolog, although we did. Rosie Gaines was featured, and at first I didn't recognize her. I guess I am used to her having highlighted hair more often. I thought she didn't act like she felt good or something, unhealthy & I hated to see that. I did think her voice was still pretty good though.
Like others have mentioned here, Prince really was not very relaxed or smiling in this footage. It honestly looked like he wished he was somewhere else. Actually this concert at PP sort of made me sad, but I don't know why. Well, at least he was on TV during primetime for a change. Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

Did they air the whole concert? He seemed relaxed and happy after playing The Christ. There was a funny moment when he crowd surfed on his belly and mimed like he was swimming.

What you guys are forgetting is that the price includes the actual membership to your pbs station. You become a supporter of public television. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

The local station aired a Waylon Jennings special the past two Saturdays that had premium offers with identical pricing.

June 13 it aired here. It's heavily edited. It goes from "U Got The LooK" to "Gett Off", then back to something else. It's a hot mess. They're chopping it up and using it as part of fundraising where they do 10 or 15 minute commercials inbetween.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

This is the way PBS has always done their Fundraisers - commercials/promotion of fund drive alternates with parts of the performance. They never show the entire thing at one time - sort of defeats the purpose of the fund drive, as most would watch the full show and then change the channel during the fund drive.

I'm well aware how PBS does fundraisers. I live in the U.S. I watch TV, and I watch PBS regularly.

I think it's great that PBS aired this. I recorded it so I can watch as many times as I want.
