It does. lol

I might have to purchase this book for my daughters classroom, I'll have to see if it is age appropriate first.

Quite an eclectic group, I'd read it. Yay for Princey on the cover!

I'm guess you're not seriuos but kind of sad that people try to find anything these days to act offended about.

Ghandi strongly disliked black people but I guess they are focusing on his peaceful protests and not his views on race. wink

.

They made Prince look a bit like Sammy Davis Jr.

If I hadn´t known it´s Prince I would not have recognized him.

Ghandi wrote very racist things about South African blacks, when he lived there as an attorney before going back to India to fight for independence from Britain. He was no doubt a conflicted person striving and failing to meet his own teachings. He made his wife who was raised in the caste system, clean up after untouchables, without doing it himself, pretty much ruining their marriage. He fought for the rights of the poor in India who were living in terrible poverty under a brutal regime using a strategy of non-violent protest.

Some people will take aim at Prince being on the cover too, because of the way he died. And the way he lived his life.

Muhammad Ali was and still is trashed by people for his concientious objection and refusal to fight in the Vietnam War, a noble stance in my eyes. When he died, haters came out of the woodwork about that all over the web, and here on the org.

I haven't read this, but at face value, I think it's great to have people this courageous on the cover of a children's book.

I mean, sad for who? You don't know me from a can of paint, bubba.

I wrote about the first thing I noticed when I saw the cover. Take it how you want, I don't really care. But don't project your pontificating on me. I've been doing great without it all this time.

I meaned it in a general way, my english isn;t that good. I meaned that everybody nowadays seems to be or look for something to be or take offense of, not you personally.

It got mentioned in reply #5, so it didn't take very long. Hard to know the exact motive if there was one.

No worries Joris, I think your reply had merit. It is a children's book. You don't have to apologize for the language barrier.

Does it say that it’s Prince on the cover? The picture of Prince on the entry in his name looks completely different (mind you, it looks nothing like him either)

Anyway, it’s a fantastic idea for a book and great to see Prince in there.

That's funny. He does look TOTALLY different there.

Maybe the cover is actually Ron O'Neal Superfly.

When talking positive role models, Prince fits the bill. You can only dig so deep into someone's personal life to scrutinize them and use that to overshadow their influence and contributions.

We'd have very few people to look up to if we analyzed every single detail about them.
