WOW. I randomly signed onto the org today and
This topic is cracking me up.
Especially today for some reason. LOL

8 pages long that's incredible!!!

I wish I WOULD try and read all of that on my phone, I'll go blind.

Well let me take all that back....i would actually LOVE to read all the threads even this one but I'm quite sleepy.

The JW thing really flips people's lids though doesn't it.

unusual actions by Jehovahs Witnesses???...LOL... thats bigotry...if the title was 'unusal actions by white people' it would have been moderated away and the op wouldve gotten a warning org note...no disrespect, but why the discrepancy in moderation tactics?

Religion is a choice.

Race is not.

To be fair, the thread is about Prince's behavior as a JW that was not in line with the religion's typical member...not a thread on JW's behavior.

Come to think of it, how did this thread not get shuffled off to the P & R forum?

I don't particularly care either way since there's not a lot of us left here discussing the man much at all anymore and I've found this particular disucssion rather interesting (for a change). Just seems odd ot have such a direct and overt religous topic left allowed to generate traffic and posts in the "music and more" forum.

I can ramble on for DAYS about "unusual actions" by these folks. Like I said, my grandmother was a devout JW and she was like a mother to me. Oddly, her best friend from the church seems to think that somehow made she and I best friends after my grandma passed.

I find religion fascinating in many ways - the POWER it maintains especially - and, to a degree, I'm sometimes envious of the peace and security it seems to lend to certain types. I could just never buy it and still can't. It just never clicked for me.

My grandmother asked me about wedding day once (I got married on the beach). :

"What would you do if Christ walked across that ocean and gave you his blessing?"

I said "I would repent".

Until I see it, there are no talking snakes, immaculate conceptions, virgin briths, ressurections, 2 of every animal on an Ark and spiky firey things with pitchforks waiting to punish me ofr mistakes I've made. It all sounds like a fable or a fairy tale to me.

I could be wrong but I'm not afraid even if I am.

"I could be wrong but I'm not afraid even if I am."

Non-believers say this while they feel no pain. But The Bible says there is pain and suffering for those that do not accept Jesus as their personal savior before their life ends, the afterworld. So what if The Bible is True???

...then God would be forgiving....

That's my story and I am sticking to it.

This is why they call it “Faith”, because it is a belief in, or hope for something that is not proven, but provides a comfort for the unknown. The majority practice a specific religion, because it is what they were exposed to or taught as a child.

What if Buddhism is the correct faith? Or Hinduism? Or Islam? No one knows for sure which is why no specific religion should ever be forced upon someone else, and no one should feel pressured to believe something other than what they choose to believe.

That's why I would love to pick Jesus up at the airport let him come downtown whole a big press conference and let us know it the things in The Bible is true or not! Because what he spoke in John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Now if Jesus speak the Truth, that would make all these a Lie: "What if Buddhism is the correct faith? Or Hinduism? Or Islam?"

Now are you calling Jesus a Liar???

You are making the assumption that The Bible is a factual writing. However, it was written thousands of years ago, re-written, and translated multiple times. None of us were here to confirm or deny any of the writings in the Bible.

Yes, exactly. You absolutely have the right to believe whatever you choose, and to follow or not follow any specific religious faith.
