Any "Help Wanted" Signs at Paisley Park or With the Estate? Surely there's tons of work to be done with the catalog and whatnot, right. If someone wanted a gig working with some aspect of the Estate, how would one go about it? |

Thanks! I'm over or underqualified for those positions, but I will check out the job descriptions for archive manager and maintenance manager and then bookmark the page. |

Keep in mind that these are Paisley Park Museum jobs, they have nothing to do with the vault. So "Archive Manager" means just the museum archive: instruments, clothes etc, not audio or video. . Another thought: working at Paisley was and still is one of my dream jobs but the way things are going these days, I'm not sure I'd want to be involved (even if I'd have a work visa for the US which I don't). Looks like the Estate is a right mess and the battles between Comerica and the heirs will probably just get worse in the near future, so being employed either by Comerica or Graceland for work at Paisley might not be a life insurance. . It also doesn't look like Graceland is doing a good job: the My Name Is Prince exhibitions were amateurish, lacked conception and proper curation, and were full of errors. They don't seem to care that much either. Despite several conversations with Paisley staff over their prominent display of the Cort-made Hohner TE Prinz guitar (an instrument Prince actually hated and never played, he just had it in is storage room), they still chose that to lend to the Met for their currently running exhibition, claiming that it was Prince's favourite Hohner. I gave them a detailed list of all the errors and stupid misinformation they managed to write up as an info sheet for the Met, they've only modified it slightly, leaving in a ton of errors and lies. Whomever is making such ignorant and unethical decisions, I don't think I'd be able to work with them without arguments for very long. . [Edited 4/20/19 9:09am] |
