Thanks for the clarification. I did assume that's what you meant in light of the rumored 1999 release.

1 or two real deluxe editions are coming thru WBR this year = 1999 deluxe & before end of 2021.....but after ??? big DOUBTS !!

Hmmm, I didn't think about any more compliations being issued any time soon. I guess the implication is that they'd be WB-era comps? If so, I wonder if they'd release something like "themed" compilations given that there are already several standard "greatest hits" packages.

With 1999 Deluxe I realy hope they learned from teh Purple Rain Deluxe mess, but I doubt it.

Even with the already-released songs on HnR1 & HnR2, there were quite a few great new songs spread throughout.

Some of those distribution rights that Warner have (of Prince's Warner released back catalog) will begin to expire and will go to Sony in 2021. I think that's part of the reason behind those re-issues thru Warner. Let's hope that the project that's gonna be released on Tidal will get a physical release via Sony/Legacy at some point.

i've just given up , if something drops great if not I have enough to get by. Each passing the market will continue to shrink unless they sort some great product out asap.

I think the Prince estate is doing pretty good despite that piano album. i think The Michael Jackson estate could do more, as far as putting out singles and albums. The question is- Is the Rick James estate even trying to do anything?

Prince, or his team, could have stepped up as far as Funkenberry was concerned. Funkenberry worked hard to promote Prince..maybe they thought he wanted it too bad...and kept a respectful distance.

Sounds like the only reason for anything to take that long would be because "they're" trying to figure out how to cut it up and rework it.

honestly have given up. The simple fact is that they have taken 3 years & there is no sign of anything major happening. Grateful for what we have been given so far & I guess the Bowie model is being followed. I think we have been more than well served by bootleggers for live video & soundboard recordings...the 1 true gap that needs to be filled is the song content from the vault across the years.

Seriously how hard can it be to do another Crystal Ball type project on line ?

As per the Estate thread that has been stickyfied on here...expect nowt soon! Family members & Commerica seemigly at war....all seems to be in limbo. Have to say reading tyhe redacted report Commercia might well be charging huge fees BUT seem to have a plan & structure in place....the so called Heirs seem obsessed with $. I might be wrong on this BUT that's how it reads.

In short...expect NOTHING from the vault any time soon.
