When I saw Prince(R.I.P.) at the 21 nights at The Forum in 2011. I was VERY impressed with his in shape ripped body, six pack & all. Kirk did an excellent job with him. [Edited 1/22/19 17:19pm] "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

Aahh...I see. Speaking of pecs....some guys who work out regularly don´t train their pecs THAT much because they don´t go for that big pecs look. My pecs for example grow really fast so I don´t train them as hard or often as I´d train other muscles because I don´t want my pecs to be too big. Because once they are big and you train less you´ll be left with flabby skin or fat looking pecs and that´s a weird look. Sylvester Stallone for example doesn´t train his pecs as much as he used to because he doesn´t like that flabby look when you reduce your training or get older. And because he tore his pecs in the mid 80s during training, hence his asymmetrical pec muscles. . Wow, I better stop now before I go totally off topic. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Yes,he was looking quite good back then. I recall seeing photos of him on stage from the Welcome 2 America shows in NYC and he had his shirt open showing off his abs.

Prince - Ripopgodazippa - 1993
"This bench that I normally use for the weights, my girl she lay me down and try my soul to take.." * He was much thinner by 1993, so I'm guessing, as per his song - that bench was used for other things * During the Purple Rain rehearsals he was definitely lifting weights, and he also had a dance instructor who he was training with as well. The increase in his muscle tone is evident if you compare pictures from '81-'82 and '84-'85. He bulked up quite a bit. Seems he was bit "sleaker" looking during the Parade tour - still muscular, but not looking as "bulky" for his size. * In one of his interviews - either print or television - he was asked if he has an exercise regimen that he follows, and his response was, "have you seen my show?" True, very true.

AND, when you are short in stature, there is no where to hide the weight if you have it. Prince was always concerned with everything in his shows as far as how it all looked. That would include himself. (I am short , so I feel I can continue in this vein...LOL) With a work ethic like his and all your time spent on the music you would have very little time for gluttony! Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

I’m guessing he worked his very little. I like good sized pecs, not boob-like, some dudes go hella overboard. But super flat pecs look teenager-y

All it really takes to have defined muscles (including a six-pack) is low body fat. We all have a six-pack - under our layers of fat. [Edited 2/5/19 7:39am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

He did work out with weights while shooting Purple Rain and continued to do so until at least the early 90s. You can see a barbell in the Gangster Glam video when they show his office, and there´s also a picture of him holding a dumbell. He also used a gym with dumbells, barbells and machines during the Lovesexy tour. You can tell he was working out during the Lovesexy tour if you take a closer look at his pecs and biceps. He had an office? With potted plants and a name tag? A certain kind of mellow.

Okay.....here we go - Prince's phsyique from Dirty Mind through Gold: * Dirty Mind - 1981 *
* 1999 - 1982-1983 *
* Purple Rain 1984-4985 *
* Parade - 1986 *
* LoveSexy - 1988 *
* Nude Tour - 1990 *
* Diamonds & Pearls Tour - 1992 *
* Prince - 1993-1994 *
*
So, overall - I think his physique was fairly consistent from 1984-1990, and then he became considerably thinner.

So, overall - I think his physique was fairly consistent from 1984-1990, and then he became considerably thinner. He also became a Vegetarian in 1990, and later tried Vegan for awhile, but went back to Vegetarian. That diet will definitely reduce any "bulk" or extra meat on the bones.
