If THAT isn't the ultimate in P shade I don't know what is!!

Ya, but also the Undisputed remix he talked shit about Quest and Dangelo for dogging him in the Voodoo liner notes etc

Shelby was also background singer on the Voodoo tour.

Yeah, but... "Daisy Chain" has that pretty direct line "funky like a junky with cornrows" and in the video there's the shot of "Chicken Grese" along with Morris in cornrows smoking a cigarette.

Now THAT was direct. I think it was after that interview came out where D or Quest said D felt slighted after meeting him, almost like "he needed to take a shower afterward" because he felt used and discarded by one of his heroes. That whole short period felt like a pissing contest. I'm glad that P at least really enjoyed D's work and just viewed him as competition at the time. He especially enjoyed "Black Messiah", from what I'd heard.

The only dig here was Prince toward the music industry, Prince was saying they (artists) should learn the Undisputed truth & get free of the commerlization of music. I never really picked up on any shade being thrown by Prince, Angie Stone, D'Angelo or Questlove. I look for shady lyrics (lol). I believe Angie Stone & D'Angelo remained friends after they broke up. I think Prince was just trying to get more exposure to the neo soul crowd thru Angie as well as D'Angelo & Questlove. Not saying Prince never Diva'd them
