They just want to release exactly what they paid for, that s a fair bargain,so leave them alone lol . But, again, they could have filled the empty spaces of the disc with b sides and remixes of the era. At least they could have given access at a barcode sold in each album to download virtually these B sides. . But does somebody knows at Sony that this material exists?

I also found this album to be not up to his standard.....although, there are some great songs by themselves. I sort of feel he tried hard to fit in to sell some records. This is the only Prince album that i've strongly felt this way. This leads to my next point....
Who in the hell is making these choices? While I loved 1983 Piano and Mic, it did not deserve to be the 1st vault release. I do NOT feel there is a real Princeologist working with the estate.

I get it that Sony don't have access to out takes or vault material but it is a shame if this release didn't include the b-sides and remixes. The quandary it puts me in is whether to buy it. As a completist I feel I should but I already own Rave Un2, Race In2 and Rave2000 so nothing new but perhaps nice to have in a single package...hmmmm! 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

They are just releasing out of print albums. This is a great initiative. If you already own these albums, you would be stupid to buy it again. So what are you complaining about? You wanna Sue WB because they are still printing FOR YOU ? Oh please...

You wanna Sue WB because they are still printing FOR YOU ? Oh please... Agreed - it has been criminal that so much of the Prince catalogue has been out of print. I obviously don't know the specifics of any contract but even though many of his post WB releases still went out on majors (Universal, Sony, EMI) they were on P&D deals and were likely time bound so no requirement for keeping them in print. Buying them again would be silly though I think SONY are missing a trick by not including b-sides and remixes in same package as THAT would probably pursuade some hardcore fans who already own the CDs to go buy again. I won't be buying Musicology, 3121 or Planet Earth (I have 9 copies of that due to the O2 concerts and Mail on Sunday) but might buy Rave again to have the three items in a single package (even though I obviously have these)...not sure! Personally, I hesitate in buying a platin vinyle. If I bought it one, I will buy every vinyl from FOR YOU to AOA. . If I stick to CD, I will buy again : Musicology, 3121, 2010 with a booklet, Emancipation, Rainbow Children. That makes 5. . I will buy for the first time : Gold, Chaos, RAVEIN2, Crystal Ball, Kamasutra, the truth, NEWS, Chocolate, Slaughterhouse, C note, One nite alone, One nite alone live!, Planet earth, the live of 2008...that makes 14 albums. . So in total, I will buy 19 albums out of 23 (!).

I have to say I find it odd that this isn’t being released on vinyl. I will buy it regardless but I would’ve also bought the vinyl as a collectors piece. I know many people who would’ve loved Rave on vinyl. Why release some but not others on vinyl?

Is the hip hop mix the one that was on BFTP3 labelled as 'redefined remix'? Kip Blackshire's on it and the Nasty Girl parts. That's my favourite version. That and Undisputed (The Moneyapolis Mix) are the pick of that era for me I don't think I've got the Club/Dance Mix..

But do you remember them (or any reliable source) saying it there, or was it just hearsay? . I'm asking because many things online are just "said" by someone (anyone) once, believed, repeated, and become "true" when in fact they were made-up. That's why when I hear something for the first time, I like to try and trace the original source. + I'd find it interesting to be able to find the exact quote if the Neptunes themselves talked about their issues with the song. . The only people I've ever heard talking about a TGRES remix were Basement Jaxx, who refused it because they had no interest on working their magic on such a craptastic song; they were interested though in doing remixes of some of his classic era tracks. . (Fun thing was that back then someone was hyping his Prince party by claiming he'd be playing his promo copy of the Basement Jaxx remix of TGRES.) © Bart Van Hemelen

. The problem is that so much of that era (late 1990s/early 2000s) has been lost in the digital haze. I'm sure there are scattered archives of the likes of The Prince Family's website and Uptown's website etc., but there's no central repository. This is when Prince was in full-on "attack the fans" mode, and those who would have set up archives/mirrors were not interested in investing their time and money in something that would inevitably have gotten them a letter from a Paisley Park lawyer. © Bart Van Hemelen

Ghostbusters, filmed in 1984 was shot on SD. I have the movie on Blu Ray. The Good The Bad and The Ugly, filmed in 1966 and shot in SD. I have the movie on Blu Ray. Top Gun, shot in SD in 1986. I have that movie in 3D Blu Ray. I could go on but I'd be here for a while. I own thousands of movies on Blu Ray (and even some on 4k blu ray) that were made well before Rave and were originally shot in SD. So go on, explain how you find it so hilarious to expect a DVD release in 2019 to receive a high definition transfer. The only thing that's hilarious is how full of shit you are.

Mmmh. I'm no expert so somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but all the motion pictures you mention have been filmed on 35mm film, which is, before being digitalized, real hardcore HD, possibly more HD than what digital HD can translate in 2018. On the other hand IDK what Rave2000 was filmed on but my guess is video, not 35 mm film. If I understand what Bart means with SD, it is that is was shot with SD digital cameras as opposed to good ol' video tape, and honestly IDK how good or bad that can look on a Blu-ray if restored, but in any case I doubt it can be compared to 35mm film.
